Cutting module and method for cutting a strand into individual pieces
A cutting module for cutting a strand into individual pieces, the cutting module comprising a rotatable cutter wheel and a rotatable cot wheel, the cutter wheel being rotatable and having cutting blades, the cot wheel having a cylindrical outer surface and being rotatable parallel at a distance from the cutter wheel, such that cutting edges of the cutting blades contact the outer surface of the cot wheel successively in use, so that a strand which is fed between the cutter wheel and the cot wheel is cut into individual pieces, each of the cutting blades being designed such that a cutting force is directed through the cutting blade.

Systems and methods for cutting label material
The present invention is an apparatus and method for cutting individual label strips from a roll of label web utilizing a cutter assembly. A label cutter comprises a cutter assembly for continuously and independently controlling the rotational speeds of a rotating cutter shaft, a stationary shaft, and a label feed roller is provided. The length of the label strip is controlled by the distinct speed of rotation of a stationary knife, the stationary knife is rotatably coupled to the stationary shaft. At least one cutter blade is operatively associated to the rotating cutter shaft for cutting the label web. The stationary knife rotates with a to speed of rotation different from the speed of rotation of the cutter blade to produce longer or shorter label length strips. The frequency at which the cutter blade meets the stationary knife is inversely related to the length of the label strip that is produced during cut off.
Process for cutting a water-soluble web
Process for cutting a water-soluble web in a cross-machine direction. Each cutting cycle contains at least two speeds. A first speed matches that of the speed of the water-soluble web and is also the speed at the point of cutting, and a second speed is faster than the speed of the water-soluble web in the machine direction and is the speed at a point in-between two cutting actions.
VENEER CUTTING AND SORTING APPARATUS
A veneer cutting and sorting apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a revolvable knife blade having a cutting edge and a revolvable knife edge receiver having a cutting edge receiving surface. The knife blade cuts a veneer sheet as peeled from a peeler block by a veneer lathe at a previously detected boundary between defective veneer portion and product veneer sheet on the cutting edge receiving surface then revolving at the same peripheral speed as the cutting edge of the knife blade. Cut-off defective portion is allowed to drop off by its own weight.
Cutting die for rotary die-cutting of label laminates
A cutting die for rotary die-cutting of a label laminates is described herein. The cutting tools of the die include at least one of the following cutting edge parameters: effective height, shape and bevel angle arranged to be different in a first direction when compared to a second direction of the cutting die. The use of the cutting die, a method for designing a cutting die and a method for die-cutting a label laminate are also described.
HEAD FOR HORIZONTAL FLOW WRAPPER PACKAGING MACHINE
A head for a horizontal flow wrapper packaging machine for forming a bandolier of product packages. The head includes a rotatable first shaft having a plurality of knife elements each including a blade and first and second upper crimping elements. The head also includes a rotatable second shaft having a plurality of anvil elements. A rotation speed of the second shaft is independent of the rotation speed of the first shaft. Each anvil element includes perforation and cutting surfaces and first and second lower crimping elements. A rotation speed of either the first shaft or second shaft is changed to move either a knife element or an anvil element, respectively, between a perforation position and a cutting position. The first upper and first lower crimping elements and the second upper and second lower crimping elements also mate to crimp the packaging material in either the perforating or cutting positions.
Plant trimming machine
A plant-trimming apparatus comprises two spaced-apart end plates, a rotatable tumbler, a rotatable reel comprising a reel shaft and reel blades, two bearing blocks, each detachably connected to a respective end plate and rotatably supporting a respective end of the reel, a motor arranged to drive the reel and the tumbler, a bed bar assembly comprising a bed bar and a bed knife, the bed knife being in operative engagement with the reel blade for cutting of plant material from the tumbler, and a manually-operated locking mechanism operable to secure the bearing blocks and the bed bar assembly to the end plates. The apparatus can be easily disassembled for cleaning and re-assembled, without using tools.

Knife assembly for flat knife blade and cutting system equipped with same
A knife assembly including a flat knife blade, a holder, a clamp arranged for clamping the knife blade onto the holder, and a fastening mechanism for securing the knife blade between the clamp and the holder. The clamp has clamping parts along a clamping line rearward from the front edge. The clamp includes clamping geometrical elements, corresponding to complementary contact geometrical elements of the knife blade, positioned at least in part at a different distance from said front edge than the clamping line. The clamp engages the knife blade along the clamping line and at the corresponding contact geometrical elements.
