ENERGY STORAGE BASED DC VOLTS BOOST FOR TRANSIENT HIGH-SPEED/HIGH-TORQUE OPERATION OF VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE CONTROLLED MOTORS
A process for transiently increasing performance of an electric motor includes boosting a DC link voltage of a rectifier-fed variable frequency drive of the electric motor by using an energy storage system. The energy storage system delivers power directly to a DC link of the variable frequency drive. The energy storage system can be at least one of a battery bank, capacitor bank and a flywheel. Feedback from the DC link is delivered to a DC link controller.
Power control device
A controller for controlling an energy discharge from an energy saving device to a power grid. The system includes decision logic to implement a local response responsive to events currently occurring in a power grid and in addition remote commands sent from a remote location.
Roadway embedded renewable electricity generation system
A roadway-embedded electric energy generation system is disclosed. In one embodiment, a pressure plate embedded with piezoelectric elements are disposed in a driveway/roadway/roadway and is coupled to pressure sensors. The pressure plate generates electricity when compressed by vehicle weights. The electricity generated is stored in a power storage module and managed via a control box that regulates power distribution to external grids or local utilities such as streetlights or electric vehicle charging stations. The system also includes a turbine generator to produce electricity. In another embodiment, the system includes a plurality of road energy tiles, each incorporating flywheel generators and activated by surface pressure due to compression of vehicle weights. The tiles are embedded into the driving surface and are connected to an energy storage and control module equipped with cooling mechanisms and power control functionalities.
POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR DATA CENTRE
A data center electrical energy distribution system includes multiple AC, MV DC, and LV DC bus sections. A primary AC source connects to at least one AC bus section, while a secondary AC source connects to either an AC bus section or an MV DC bus section. Each MV DC bus section is linked to a DC source. The AC and LV DC bus sections operate as isolated islands, only connecting through MV DC bus sections. MV DC bus sections form a ring bus, interconnected via semiconductor switching units, which remain closed during normal operation.
ELECTRIC POWER STORAGE SYSTEM
An electric power storage system is provided with: an electric power supplier that is configured to supply at least a portion of electric power generated by repeatedly alternating unwinding and winding of a tether that moors a flying body to an electric power storage unit, which stores electric power in a predetermined manner, and an electric power holding unit, which is capable of charging and discharging electric power; and a controller that is configured to control the electric power holding unit so that electric power is supplied from the electric power holding unit to the electric power storage unit during winding the tether.
