System and method for on-demand colorization for extrusion-based additive construction
A color 3D printer and its method of use are disclosed. The color 3D printer uses a number of chambers to dye a filament to a given color. This colored filament is then extruded, pursuant to an associated 3D model of an object, to produce varying colored physical objects, on demand, with the use of a single filament and a single print head. Further, the color 3D printer features a waste management apparatus which provides a number of ways to dispose of waste fluid.
Device for dosing bulk material
A device for dosing bulk material, in particular plastic granules, for machines that process plastic granules, in particular for injection molding machines. The invention provides a bulk material feed (1), a material hopper (3) formed by multiple, preferably four, individually removable material hopper containers (2) and arranged under the bulk material feed (1) and ending in a dosing base device (4), and, optionally, a weighing container with a scale in the dosing base device (4). The individual material hopper containers (2) are arranged on a support spider (5) and the support spider (5) is formed by support spider plates (11) arranged vertically and perpendicular to one another. The support spider is mounted on the housing of the dosing base device (4). The support spider (5) has a height (h), which is at least the height (h.sub.1) of the material hopper container (2), which extends over the dosing base device (4), and corresponds to the immersion depth (h.sub.2) of the material hopper (3) into the dosing base device (4). A material hopper cover (6) is provided on the end of the support spider (5) facing away from the dosing base device (4).
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF EXPANDABLE VINYL AROMATIC POLYMER GRANULATE HAVING DECREASED THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
The invention relates to an extrusion process for the production of expandable vinyl aromatic polymer granulate comprising mixing first and second additives with first and second polymer components, respectively, in dedicated mixers.
Composition of 3D printing construction material
A formulation for a photopolymer composite material for a 3D printing system includes an acrylate oligomer, an inorganic hydrate, a reinforcing filler, and an ultraviolet (UV) initiator. In the formulation the acrylate oligomer may be found in the range between about 20.0-60.0 w % of the formulation. The inorganic hydrate may be found in the range between about 20.0-50.0 w % of the formulation. The reinforcing filler may be found in the range between about 5.0-60.0 w % of the formulation, and the UV initiator may be found in the range between about 0.001-0.5 w % of the formulation. A method of generating a formulation of a photopolymer composite material for use in a 3D printing system includes using an acrylate oligomer, an inorganic hydrate, a reinforcing filler, and an ultraviolet (UV) initiator.
Method for the manufacture of a colored polymer composition
Method for the manufacture of a colored polymer composition comprising a polymer, a release agent and a colorant, the method comprising the steps of feeding a solid form of a release agent composition comprising said release agent and said colorant to a feed section of a melt mixing device, feeding said polymer to said melt mixing device and mixing said release agent composition and said polymer in said melt mixing device at a temperature above the melting temperature of said polymer, whereinsaid colorant is a pigment, or a dye which is soluble in said release agent, said polymer comprises or consists of polycarbonate, the release agent is selected from the group consisting of penta-erythritol tetra stearate, glycerol monostearate, glycerol tristearate and mixtures thereof.
SYSTEM FOR THE FORMULATION AND DELIVERY OF MATERIALS TO MOLDING MACHINES
Systems are provided for system for delivering plural materials to plural molding machines according to defined formulations. Material supply units each contains a unique material and is coupled with a set of manifolds that have a mixing chambers. Conduits couple the material supply units with the manifolds. A controller is configured to operate valves to admit select materials from the material supply units into the mixing chamber according to the defined formulations, and to supply the mixed materials to the molding machines.
Multi-channel gravimetric batch blender
A weighing apparatus for the preparation of a mixture of granular components that comprise batches of material required by a plurality of processing machines in a plant for the manufacture of plastic products is described. The apparatus comprises a Multi-Channel Gravimetric Batch Blender (MCGBB) configured to weigh predetermined weights of the raw materials and to combine the weighed portions of raw materials into batches according to a predetermined recipe for each processing machine and a computer that controls the operation of all components of the MCGBB. The MCGBB comprises several weighing units arranged in a way that allows material weighed in each of the weighing units to fall through individual chutes via a common funnel into a manifold that distributes the weighed batches to several processing machines via a system of delivery pipes.
PREPARING AND DISPENSING POLYMER MATERIALS AND PRODUCING POLYMER ARTICLES THEREFROM
An example system is used to mix components and dispense a mixture for forming a thiol-ene polymer article. The system includes a first reservoir containing a first component of the thiol-ene polymer including a first polymerizable compound, and a second reservoir containing a second component of the thiol-ene polymer including a second polymerizable compound. The system also includes a mixing vessel having a mixing chamber, a delivery manifold providing a conduit for fluid from the first and second reservoirs to the mixing vessel, and a dispensing manifold providing a conduit for fluid from the mixing vessel. The system also includes a control module programmed to control the operation of the system.
