Foam-in-bag systems and components thereof

A longitudinal sealer includes a housing, an arm, and a heating element. The housing is configured to be installed in a foam-in-bag system. The arm is movably coupled to the housing. The heating element has a leading edge exposed through an exterior surface of the arm. A position of the arm with respect to the housing is controllable so that the arm is movable between a first location where the leading edge of the heating element is not in contact with a film in a film path of the foam-in-bag system and a second location where the leading edge of the heating element is in contact with the film in the film path of the foam-in-bag system.

A mixing device includes a first feed opening for a first liquidpreferably gas-ladenplastics component, a second feed opening for a second liquid plastics component, and a discharge opening for discharging a mixture of the first and the second liquid plastics component. The mixing device has a rotating agitator for mixing the first and second liquid plastics components, and a gap remains between the agitator and the discharge opening. An adjustment device is provided which either varies the gap by way of a relative movement between discharge opening and agitator or varies the size of the discharge opening. A regulating device is connected in signal-transmitting fashion to a sensor for determining a pressure prevailing in the mixing device. The regulating device sets the gap, or the size of the discharge opening, by the adjustment device such that the pressure prevailing in the mixing device has a predetermined value.

The invention relates to a mixing device comprising at least one supply opening for at least one liquid and comprising at least one additional supply opening for at least one liquid curing or crosslinking agent. The liquid and/or the liquid curing or crosslinking agent is/are mixed with a gas. The mixing device also comprises a discharge opening for discharging a mixture, which can be produced in the mixing device, of the at least one liquid and the at least one liquid curing or crosslinking agent. A pressure holding device is provided for holding a specifiable pressure which is higher than the pressure at which the gas in the mixing device is foamed.

A mixing chamber in which a first liquid comes into contact with a second liquid, and a gas injection device designed to inject a gas into the mixing chamber, wherein the gas injection device includes: a gas source to provide the gas at a predetermined pressure, and a metering unit to limit the gas provided by the gas source to a predetermined flow rate, wherein the metering unit is in contact with the mixing chamber on a gas outlet side of the metering unit, wherein the gas outlet side of the metering unit includes an elongated gap, wherein the gas passes out of the metering unit into the mixing chamber via the elongated gap, and wherein the gas passes out of the metering unit into the mixing chamber.

Plural component spray gun for fast setting materials

A plural component spray gun (1) is designed for spraying quick setting materials such as foams, polyurea and the like. Towards this end, the gun (1) is designed so as to be easily serviceable with a minimum of tools. For example, the side seal cartridges (18) and (20) may be installed and removed without tools by removing the retaining ring (9) and then extracting them from the fluid housing (11). Those cartridges (18) and (20) are easily disassembled and cleaned. Similarly, the fluid housing (11) may be removed from the handle/body (1) by unscrewing the lock ring (7) by hand.

HIGH PRESSURE MIXING HEAD FOR CONTINUOUSLY PRODUCING POLYMERIC FOAM

A high pressure mixing head for continuously producing polymeric foam comprises a body including a mixing chamber and injectors for injecting two polymeric liquids. The mixing head also includes a delivery duct which is disposed transversely to the mixing chamber, wherein a rod is slidably received in an internal passageway of the delivery duct. An alternate delivery duct is also included. The delivery duct and the alternate delivery duct are in flow communication with the mixing chamber via a switchable flow connection, and a control unit is configured to control the switchable flow connection and the positions of the rods in the delivery duct and the alternate delivery duct such that flow from the output opening of the mixing chamber can be selectively directed either to the delivery duct or to the alternate delivery duct.
