System and method for adjusting the land channel length on an extrusion die
An extrusion die with adjustable land channel can be formed of a die body that includes a first die body portion and a second die body portion, a first lip body, a second lip body, and a land channel body. The extrusion die can have a flow channel that includes a land channel terminating in an outlet orifice. The flow channel may be bound on one side by the first die body portion, the land channel body, and the first lip body. The flow channel may be bound on an opposite side by the second die body portion and the second lip body. In some examples, the length of the land channel is adjustable by configuring the land channel body and/or first lip body to move across the width of the flow channel.
RESIN FILM MANUFACTURING DEVICE AND RESIN FILM MANUFACTURING METHOD
In a resin film manufacturing device according to an embodiment, a current state and a reward for a previously selected action are determined for each heat bolt based on a control error calculated from a thickness distribution of a resin film acquired from a thickness sensor. Then, control conditions, which are a combination of states and actions, are updated based on the reward, and a most appropriate action corresponding to the current state is selected from the updated control conditions. Then, the heater is controlled based on the most appropriate action.
Self-adjusting cutter assembly
A cutter assembly includes a rotatable cutting head carrying outwardly extending cutter blades, as well as a rotatable drive hub and interconnected spring housing. The drive hub has a bearing housing, whereas spring housing includes coil spring. The spring housing is operably coupled with the cutting head, in a manner such that the spring exerts an unrestrained force against the cutting head and blades so that there is unrestrained movement of these components toward the outlet face of an extruder die plate. Consequently, there is a substantially constant self-adjusting force exerted on the cutter and blades against the plate, which promotes cleaner cutting of extrudate, even in the event that there is a degree of misalignment between the cutting edges and the outer surface of die plate. This arrangement lengthens the service life of the blades and the die plate.
EXTRUSION DIE WITH IMPROVED EXIT GAP CONTROL
An extrusion die including a die body having a movable die lip, is provided with improved automated control of the exit orifice through which a flowable polymer is extruded. The automated control is provided by lip adjustment assemblies each of which includes a thermally responsive translator and each of which is in engagement with the movable die lip. Beneficially, the lip adjustment assemblies are also in engagement with a support structure located to reduce the effect of flow pressure-induced deflection. Improved automated control of the movable lip and the exit orifice gap provides a web having a prescribed thickness profile without manual intervention being required.
Multi-layer slot die system and method
A multi-layer slot die and method are provided. The multi-layer slot die comprises an upper body member, a lower body member, and a center body member. The upper body member has an upper surface and an upper rear surface. The lower body member has a lower surface and a lower rear surface. The center body has an upper center surface, a lower center surface, and a center rear surface. The upper center surface is spaced apart from the upper surface of the upper body member forming a first channel therebetween. The lower center surface is spaced apart from the lower surface of the lower body member forming a second channel therebetween. The first channel includes a first opening and the second channel includes a second opening. The first and second openings are substantially parallel to the upper rear surface, the lower rear surface, and the center rear surface.
Resin panel and forming method
Provided is a resin panel without warpage, in which weight reduction and high rigidity of the resin panel have been promoted. The resin panel according to an aspect of the present invention is a resin panel having a back wall, a front wall facing the back wall with a gap therebetween, and ribs formed by having portions of the back wall depressed toward the front wall and welded to the inner surface of the front wall, characterized in that the back wall, the front wall and the ribs are configured by mold-clamping, in a split mold, a first molten resin in a molten state and incorporating a plate-shaped filler, which constitutes the back wall, and a second molten resin in a molten state and incorporating a plate-shaped filler, which constitutes the front wall, the first molten resin and the second molten resin having been extruded and flowed out from an extrusion apparatus, and the longitudinal direction of the ribs is non-parallel to the direction of flow of the first molten resin and the second molten resin.
Extrusion molding apparatus for light guide plate of display device and method of fabricating light guide plate of display device using the same
An extrusion molding apparatus for a light guide plate of a display device includes: a first surface of a first body and a second surface of a second body facing each other, the first body including a first side opposite to a second side thereof in a first direction, and a gap between the first and second surfaces, from which a light guide plate material is discharged along a second direction crossing the first direction. In the second direction, each of the first and second surfaces includes, in order: a first land portion; a manifold portion at a height different from the height of a first land portion; and a discharge portion from which the light guide plate material is discharged from the extrusion molding apparatus. Along the first direction, the gap at the discharge portion increases, and a width of the manifold portion in the second direction increases.
Selective slot coating
A coater assembly includes an array of side-by-side selectively closable slot portions to control pressurized fluid flow onto a substrate during relative movement between the coater assembly and the substrate to form a coating pattern on the substrate. A control module produces the coating pattern via control over selective independent closure of the slot portions based on a mapping matrix of individually addressable coatable elements.
Extrusion die having thermally responsive lip adjustment assembly
A method for replacing one or more components of a lip adjustment assembly mounted to a die body of an extrusion die is disclosed. Initially, a translating unit of the lip adjustment assembly is accessed through an exposed end of the lip adjustment assembly. Then, an adjustment actuator is removed from a translator of the translating unit. The translator is decoupled from a rod of the translating unit so that the translator is removable from the lip adjustment assembly and with respect to the rod. Next, the translator is removed from the lip adjustment assembly and a first component of the translating unit is replaced with a second component of the translating unit.
Method for automatically regulating the size of a slot of a nozzle assembly and control and/or regulation system
The invention relates to a method for automatically regulating the size of a nozzle discharge slot of a nozzle assembly, wherein the nozzle assembly comprises a first and a second nozzle lip and a nozzle discharge slot arranged between the nozzle lips for setting in a controlled manner a thickness profile of a conveyable melt. A plurality of adjusting elements, in particular a plurality of adjusting pins, coupled to a respective thermoelement, is arranged on the first nozzle lip, the thermoelements being controllable by the regulation in such a way that the slot can be adjusted by the action of a mechanical force from the respective adjusting element on the first nozzle lip, as a result of the expansion or contraction of the thermoelements. At an initial operation of the nozzle assembly for conveying the melt, the adjusting elements for subsequent regulation of the slot size are set uniquely free from play as the initial setting. The invention further relates to a control and/or regulation system.
