TWIN-SCREW MIXING AND EXTRUSION MACHINE WITH MOBILE ELEMENTS
A mixing and extrusion machine (10) has a converging conical twin-screw mixer (12) with a fixed frame (14) that supports sleeves (16) in which two screws (18) are mounted at an angle between an opening (22) arranged upstream of the sleeves, where an introduction hopper (24) of the machine (10) feeds the screws, and an outlet (25) arranged downstream of the sleeves, where the mixer discharges the mixture at the end of a mixing cycle. At least one mobile sleeve (34) is disposed towards the outlet, each mobile sleeve with a support surface (34a) of a predetermined surface area (34a) according to an elasticity of the mixture, and each mobile sleeve having one or more mobile elements that move by a linear movement with respect to the outlet in order to adjust a predetermined space between the sleeves and the screws.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BATTERY
In a method for producing batteries in which a suspension with a variable product parameter is extruded in an extrusion process by means of an extruder as an electrode paste, a number of extrusion parameters of the extrusion process are determined, an extruder-specific stress model is calculated on the basis of the extrusion parameters, and the extrusion process is controlled in an open loop and/or regulated, i.e., controlled in a closed loop, on the basis of the stress model.
Extruder mixing element
A dispersive mixing element for co-rotating twin screw extruder is disclosed. The element for co-rotating twin screw extruder comprises of a continuous flight helically formed thereon having a lead ‘L’, wherein either the flight transforms at least once from an integer lobe flight into a non-integer lobe flight in a fraction of the lead ‘L’ and transforms back to an integer lobe flight in a fraction of the lead ‘L’ or the flight transforms at least once from a non-integer lobe flight into an integer lobe flight in a fraction of the lead ‘L’ and transforms back to a non-integer lobe flight in a fraction of the lead ‘L’.
Method of producing a bioplastic granulate based on sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material on the one hand and a plastic material on the other hand
A method of producing a bioplastic granulate on the basis of sunflower seed shells or sunflower seed hulls. In the method, ground sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material is provided, wherein the particle size is in the region of 3 mm or less, preferably in the region of 0.01 to 1 mm, preferably in the region of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. A plastic material is provided, which is compounded with the sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material, wherein the compounding operation is preferably effected in an extruder, preferably a double-screw extruder. The compounded material is chopped at the end of the extruder section with a tool with the addition of water, wherein the water is at a temperature of preferably more than 50° C., preferably about 80 to 90° C., to cool down the compound material. During the compounding operation, the compounding material is subjected to atmospheric degassing and/or vacuum degassing.
Twin screw extruder
A twin screw extruder (10) for producing a fiber-reinforced resin composition, which is obtained by charging the extruder with a thermoplastic resin and reinforcing fibers in roving form and the reinforcing fibers being fibrillated/cut and being dispersed/kneaded into the thermoplastic resin, comprises: a plate-shaped blade (15), which protrudes from the inner surface of a cylinder (11) and faces a screw (20) and the longitudinal direction of which faces the axial direction of the cylinder; and a height adjustment means (16) for adjusting the gap between the blade (15) and the screw (20).
METHOD FOR PREPARING STARCH BLENDS
The present invention relates to a single-stage process for the production of starch blends in a twin-screw extruder or two twin-screw extruders arranged in series, where i) the starch, together with a plasticizer, passes through a wetting section of length 8D to 30D in an extruder or in a wetting section of length 8D to 80D if two extruders are used at temperatures below the gelatinization temperature of the starch, with mixing, where D is defined as the screw diameter of the screw cylinder and the wetting section is defined as starting at that point on the extruder screw at which the starch and the entire or partial quantity of plasticizer encounter one another and ending at that point in the extruder at which the starch is gelatinized and is digested to give thermoplastic starch; ii) in a plastifying section of length 10D to 50D the extruder temperature is adjusted stepwise to above 130° C., where the starch is digested, destructured and thermoplastified, and is dispersed in a starch-immiscible polymer, and a water content below 5%, based on the starch blend, is established before the material leaves the extruder; where the starch-immiscible polymer is added in molten or granular form at any desired point in the extruder, and a mixture of all of the components present is consequently produced.
Discontinuous-fiber composites and methods of making the same
The invention relates to compositions comprising composite materials comprised of discontinuous fibers and one or more polymers and/or oligomers. The invention relates to methods of making the same. The composite materials can be in the form of compositions, composite sheets, laminates, pellets, and/or shaped composite products.
Extruder screw having paths within the screw, extruder, and extrusion method
An extruder screw conveying raw materials while kneading them includes a screw main body, conveyance portions, barrier portions, and paths. The conveyance portions convey the raw materials in an axial direction. The paths each include an entrance and an exit. The raw materials, the conveyance of which is limited by the barrier portions, flow in from the entrance. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the paths in the same direction as a conveyance direction of the conveyance portions. The exit is opened in the outer circumferential surface of the screw main body at a position outside the conveyance portions in which the entrance is opened.
EXTRUDER SCREW HAVING PATHS WITHIN THE SCREW, EXTRUDER, AND EXTRUSION METHOD
A conveyance portion, a barrier portion, and a path are provided at places of a portion of a screw main body in which a kneading portion is provided. In at least one of the places, an entrance is opened to cause raw materials, conveyance of which is limited by a barrier portion to increase pressure on the raw materials, to flow in. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the path in the opposite direction to a conveyance direction of the conveyance portion. An exit is opened in an outer circumferential surface of the screw main body at a position outside the conveyance portion in which the entrance is opened.
