Liner-type barrel

A barrel main body, a sleeve, and a fixing mechanism (a fastening hole and a fastening device) are provided. The barrel main body includes a barrel hole having a cylindrical shape and a slit dividing an inner circumferential surface of the barrel hole. The sleeve having a hollow cylindrical shape is removably incorporated into the barrel hole. The slit includes two cutout surfaces facing each other with a space between. The fixing mechanism brings the inner circumferential surface of the barrel hole into close contact with the sleeve without any gap by narrowing the space between the cutout surfaces and deforming the barrel main body.

Twin screw extruder for use in manufacturing fiber-reinforced resin composition and process for manufacturing fiber-reinforced resin composition

A twin screw extruder (10) according to the present invention is a twin screw extruder (10), in which a reinforcing fiber is fed through an input port (18) into a molten thermoplastic resin having been formed in a resin feed part (13) and the reinforcing fiber and the molten thermoplastic resin pass through a kneading part (15) so that a fiber-reinforced resin composition is manufactured, wherein the kneading part (15) is provided at the discharge-side end part of the extruder (10); a conveying part (14) is provided between the input port (18) and the kneading part (15), and tip clearance (Sc) of a screw element (12b) configuring the conveying part (14) is larger than screw clearance (Ss).

In a method for reprocessing film waste material, the film waste material is comminuted into recycling material by means of a comminuting device. The recycling material is fed by means of a feeding device in a multi-shaft screw machine. In the multi-shaft screw machine, the recycling material is plasticized into a material melt and processed into raw material. The raw material may again be fed to a production installation for the production of films.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLASTIC GRANULATE

A device for producing dyed plastic granulate and undyed plastic granulate includes a multi-shaft screw extruder and an underwater pelletizing installation. A granulate changeover unit which separates the dyed plastic granulate from the undyed plastic granulate is disposed in a conveying direction downstream of the underwater pelletizing installation. The dyed plastic granulate is separated from the pelletizing water via a first separator installation, and the undyed plastic granulate is separated from the pelletizing water via a second separator installation. The separator installations are disposed so as to be mutually parallel. The device enables a simple, flexible and economical selective production of the dyed plastic granulate and the undyed plastic granulate.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING POLYMER COMPOSITES COMPRISING AGRO-WASTE PARTICLES

A method of manufacturing a polymer composite comprising a polymer phase and agro-waste particles dispersed in the polymer phase, wherein the polymer phase is preferably obtained from polyolefin containing waste plastics, and the agro-waste particles are preferably obtained from date palm wood flour particles. Various combinations of embodiments are provided.

Process and apparatus for manufacture of processable polyvinyl alcohol

The invention describes a method for the manufacture of a plasticized polyvinyl alcohol polymer mixture, the method including the steps of introducing a polyvinyl alcohol polymer with a degree of hydrolysis of at least 98 wt % or a blend of the polyvinyl alcohol polymer into a mixing reactor; reacting a reaction mixture comprising a processing agent, plasticizer and polyvinyl alcohol polymer in a reaction zone to form plasticized polyvinyl alcohol polymer; wherein the processing agent is water, or a mixture of water and one or more C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alcohols or other hydroxyl compounds wherein the boiling point of the processing agent is less than the boiling point of the plasticizer; wherein the processing agent is from 3 wt % to 18 wt % in the reaction mixture; and allowing the plasticized polyvinyl alcohol polymer mixture to pass from the mixing reactor.
