ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED EXTRUDER COMPONENTS
Disclosed are additively manufactured extruder components including a surface layer configured to contact extrudable material. The surface layer has a first additively manufactured metal composition. A base support for the surface layer has a second additively manufactured metal composition that is different from the first additively manufactured metal composition. A functionally graded material (FGM) is formed from the first and second additively manufactured metal compositions connecting the surface layer to the base support.
ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED EXTRUDER COMPONENT INCLUDING LATTICE
Disclosed are additively manufactured extruder components comprising a lattice structure formed within a structural support frame that defines an impervious surface and an axial aperture. An axial aperture of a screw segment is configured to couple to a drive shaft, and its impervious surface is configured to contact extrudable material. An axial aperture of a barrel segment is configured to contact extrudable material.
Method for producing a component having a core portion which consists of steel
A method for simply producing components suitable for use under high loads and risks of wear and which have a core portion which consists of a metal material and a wear-resistant layer on a peripheral surface of the core portion is disclosed. A core portion blank is provided and consists of the metal material whose dimension in a first spatial direction is greater than the desired finished dimension of the core and whose second dimension is smaller than the desired finished dimension is provided. A material that forms a wear-resistant layer in the component is applied to a peripheral surface of the core portion blank. The composite body is shaped to form the component. The component may then be optionally finished.
No solid bed extruder screw
A no solid bed extruder screw for processing a material to a molten state has a body with a helical thread formed thereon, the thread having pushing and trailing surfaces. The body has an outer surface and extends longitudinally between feed and discharge ends. A channel for receiving the material to be processed is defined between the outer surface of the body and an outer diameter of the thread bounded by the pushing surface and the trailing surface of the thread. A volume of the channel decreases in a plurality of revolutions of the thread in a direction from the feed end to the discharge end. A channel depth between the pushing surface and the trailing surface decreases for a first portion of the channel toward the feed end and increases for a second portion of the channel toward the discharge end.
Formulations of topical ibuprofen SLN gel using HME technique
A continuous process for preparing a solid lipid nanoparticle of ibuprofen utilizing hot melt extrusion which avoids additional steps such as high-pressure homogenization, ultrasonication, or solvent evaporation. The continuous process includes preparing a pre-emulsion comprising a lipid, and continuously processing the pre-emulsion through a hot melt extruder device.
Energy transfer screw and improved extrusion process
Lower discharge temperatures and improved flow rates are obtained for the processing of meltable, solid crosslinkable compositions comprising a polymer, e.g., polyethylene, and a peroxide, in a single barrel extruder by equipping the extruder with an energy transfer (ET) screw that comprises: (1) an ET section with a distance averaged ET section depth of 8.0% to 10% of the extruder barrel internal diameter, and (2) a metering section with a metering section depth of 6.0% to 8% of the extruder barrel internal diameter.
Screw Press
A screw press for separating off liquid from an article, comprising a screw shaft together with a conveying helix, which is arranged helically on the screw shaft, and a housing enclosure, which surrounds the conveying helix, wherein a transporting passage for the article which is to be conveyed is formed between the screw shaft, the conveying helix and the housing enclosure, wherein a composite comprising hard-material particles which are embedded in a matrix component to form surface roughness is fastened with material bonding to at least one surface portion of the screw shaft, within the transporting passage. A use of a composite comprising hard-material particles which are embedded in a uniformly distributed manner in a matrix component to form surface roughness, for the purpose of providing fastening with material bonding to at least one surface portion of a screw shaft.
