MOLDED BODY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A molded article comprising a fuel-barrier layer formed of a resin composition comprising a polyamide resin (A) as a continuous phase and a resin (B) as a disperse phase, wherein (A) is a polyamide resin (A1) comprising at least one of a constituent unit derived from a lactam having 10 to 12 carbon atoms and a constituent unit derived from an aminocarboxylic acid having 10 to 12 carbon atoms, or a polyamide resin (A2) comprising a constituent unit derived from an aliphatic diamine having 6 to 12 carbon atoms and a constituent unit derived from an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having 10 to 12 carbon atoms, the (B) is a resin selected from a semi-aromatic polyamide resin, the ratio by volume of (A)/(B) is 95/5 to 51/49, and the mean disperse particle diameter of (B) is 150 nm or more.
APPARATUS FOR EXTRUDING PLASTIC MATERIALS
Apparatus and methods for extruding plastic materials are disclosed. An exemplary apparatus comprises: a feeding portion; a melting portion in communication with the feeding portion and configured to transmit heat into material received from the feeding portion; and an output die in communication with the melting portion to permit extrusion of the material. The melting portion comprises: a melting barrel having an inner surface defining a melting chamber in communication with the feeding portion; and a melting insert inside the melting chamber. The melting insert comprises an outer surface in contact with the inner surface of the melting barrel where the outer surface comprises one or more open-ended channels formed therein. In some embodiments, the feeding portion and the melting portion may be thermally insulated from each other and a propeller of the feeding portion may be disposed entirely outside of the melting portion.
Plasticizing unit
The application relates to a plasticizing unit with a cylinder and a screw that is rotatably mounted in the cylinder and has a screw section which is designed as a shearing section and in which a blocking web encircling the screw core in a helical manner and a main screw thread enclosed by the blocking web are provided. A shearing web runs in the main screw thread parallel to the blocking web at a lower height than the blocking web. In this manner, two screw threads are produced which run parallel to each other and are separated by the shearing web. The threads are designed in the form of wave screw threads. Each wave screw thread is equipped with one or more wave peaks with a surface which is designed in the form of a plateau and forms a wave peak shearing surface, wherein the wave peak shearing surface is located at the same height as the surface of the shearing web in the region. The shearing web surface section which lies in the region of a wave peak shearing surface constitutes a shearing web sharing surface. A wave peak shearing surface and a shearing web shearing surface together form a total shearing surface. A specified total shearing surface together with the inner wall of the cylinder forms a shearing gap in accordance with a shearing gap size specified for the total shearing surface.

Extrusion method and apparatus
Improvements in the extrusion of thermohardenable materials are achieved by cooling the material in the initial zone of the extruder and reducing residence time by use of a prescribed length to diameter ratio and screw speed, particularly useful for intermittent application during robotically controlled mass production.
Method for producing flame retardant polycarbonate resin composition pellet
A method for producing a polycarbonate resin composition pellet with a twin screw extruder, the polycarbonate resin composition pellet has 30 to 95 mass % of a resin pellet (A) containing more than 40 mass % of a polycarbonate resin in the pellet; not less than 5 mass % and less than 40 mass % of a phosphate ester flame retardant (B) that is a liquid at room temperature; 0 to 50 mass % of polycarbonate resin flake (C); 0 to 30 mass % of an ABS resin (D); and 0 to 15 mass % of an additive (E) other than component (B). The method includes feeding components (A), (C), (D) and (E) in a twin screw extruder and kneading with a first kneading zone; feeding component (B) to a downstream part in the first kneading zone and kneading with a second kneading zone; and decompressing a vent in the downstream part in the second kneading zone.
MULTILAYER HEAT-SEAL FILM
Provided herein are multilayer films including linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and a process for making the same. In some embodiments, the multilayer film includes a primary layer comprising an extruded first LLDPE composition, and a second layer including a polymer composition. The process for making the multilayer films according to embodiments disclosed herein includes melting a first LLDPE composition and a polymer composition, wherein prior to extrusion, the first LLDPE composition comprises a first LLDPE polymer and a free radical generator. The multilayer films can have desirable tear, heat seal, puncture, and dart drop properties as a result of being formed from the first LLDPE composition, including the free-radical generator, that acts as a rheology modifier.

The present application discloses a continuous dynamic and efficient devolatilization method for a polymer/volatile system based on high mass transfer interfaces, including the following steps: providing a dynamic single-screw devolatilizer, feeding a polymer solution to the devolatilizer, wherein the polymer solution includes polymer and volatile substances with small molecule weight, and the volatile substances include organic solvents, residual monomers, water or reaction by-products; conveying and compressing polymer materials by the screw downstream a devolatilization section, and extruding the polymer materials out of the dynamic single-screw devolatilizer directly; or providing a side-feeding extruder downstream of the devolatilization section and feeding plastic additives into a devolatilized polymer melt, and then melt blending the plastic additives with the devolatilized polymer melt at an end of the dynamic single-screw devolatilizer before exiting the dynamic single-screw devolatilizer.
