Plant and method for making continuous elastic yarns made of silicone material and continuous elastic yarn made of silicone material thus obtained
A plant and method for making continuous yarns made of silicone material comprises at least an extrusion station, into which the material is introduced in an amorphous condition, and extrusion means which cause the material to exit from the extrusion station along an extrusion axis. The plant also comprises a vulcanization station, located downstream of the extrusion station, at a determinate distance therefrom, in which the continuous yarn is vulcanized in a direction of treatment. The plant also comprises a drawing unit, disposed downstream of the vulcanization station.
RECONSTITUTED COMPOSITE MATERIALS DERIVED FROM WASTE MADE BY SOLID STATE PULVERIZATION
A method of making polymeric composite particles from polymeric scrap material, virgin polymeric material, or mixtures thereof and glass particles by subjecting a mixture of the polymeric particles and glass particles to a solid state shear pulverization and in-situ polymer compatibilization.
EXTRUDER SCREW, EXTRUDER, AND EXTRUSION METHOD
A conveyance portion, a barrier portion, and a path are provided at places of a portion of a screw main body in which a kneading portion is provided. In at least one of the places, an entrance is opened to cause raw materials, conveyance of which is limited by a barrier portion to increase pressure on the raw materials, to flow in. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the path in the opposite direction to a conveyance direction of the conveyance portion. An exit is opened in an outer circumferential surface of the screw main body at a position outside the conveyance portion in which the entrance is opened.
HYDROTHERMALLY CARBONIZED BIOMASS FORMED VIA REACTIVE TWIN-SCREW EXTRUSION
A biomass-derived thermosetting polymer material being a product of processing a biomass feed material via a twin screw extruder having a length extending between an inlet and an outlet. Hot water from a water heater is injected into at least one inlet along the length of the twin screw extruder, the at least one inlet generally corresponding with a pressure boundary within the twin screw extruder. A pressure-sustaining valve is connected between the length of the twin screw extruder and the outlet, with the valve being adjusted to produce the biomass-derived thermosetting polymer material.
EXTRUDER SCREW, EXTRUDER AND EXTRUSION METHOD
According to one embodiment, an extruder screw includes a screw body. The screw body is rotated about an axis parallel to a direction of conveyance of a raw material. A conveyance portion having a flight is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the screw body. The flight is configured to convey the raw material along the axis of the screw body when the screw body is rotated. A passage for permitting the raw material fed by the flight to pass therethrough to the outer peripheral surface of the screw body is provided in the screw body in a position deviated from the axis of the screw body.
Extrusion method and apparatus
Improvements in the extrusion of thermohardenable materials are achieved by cooling the material in the initial zone of the extruder and reducing residence time by use of a prescribed length to diameter ratio and screw speed, particularly useful for intermittent application during robotically controlled mass production.
Method and apparatus for extruder barrel and shaft cooling
A cooling apparatus for an extruder includes a supply line configured to receive bulk coolant from a supply circuit via an inlet. The supply line delivers supply coolant to the extruder along a flow path. A return line communicates expelled coolant from the extruder, and a circulation line connects the supply line to the return line. The circulation line supplies a recirculated portion of the expelled coolant to the supply line and mixes the bulk coolant with the recirculated portion of the expelled coolant forming the supply coolant. A bypass line connects the supply line to the return line, and a flow control valve connects one of the supply line and the return line to the bypass line. A proportion of the expelled coolant to the bulk coolant forming the supply coolant is adjusted by the flow control valve to control the temperature of the supply coolant.
MATERIAL EXTRUSION MECHANISM AND MOLDING MACHINE
A material extrusion mechanism includes a cylinder including a supply port to which a material is supplied, a screw including a spiral flight section that rotates on a rotation axis extending in a vertical direction, a first cooling section surrounding a part of the screw, a heating section surrounding a part of the screw below the first cooling section, and at least one nozzle configured to discharge the plasticized material. At least a part of the supply port overlaps the first cooling section in a horizontal direction, the screw includes a first portion where an outer diameter of the flight section is a first diameter and a second portion wherein the outer diameter of the flight section is a smaller second diameter, the first portion overlaps the heating section in the horizontal direction, and the second portion overlaps the first cooling section in the horizontal direction.
Extruder Plasticization Assembly
An extruder plasticization assembly has a plasticization cylinder, at least one thrust and plasticization screw rotatably mounted inside the plasticization cylinder, and a heat-adjustment unit to selectively control a temperature of the plasticization cylinder, the heat-adjustment unit comprises a heating device to heat by electromagnetic induction the plasticization cylinder and a cooling device to cool the plasticization cylinder.
