Method for Automatically Regulating the Size of a Slot of a Nozzle Assembly and Control and/or Regulation System
The invention relates to a method for automatically regulating the size of a nozzle discharge slot of a nozzle assembly, wherein the nozzle assembly comprises a first and a second nozzle lip and a nozzle discharge slot arranged between the nozzle lips for setting in a controlled manner a thickness profile of a conveyable melt. A plurality of adjusting elements, in particular a plurality of adjusting pins, coupled to a respective thermoelement, is arranged on the first nozzle lip, the thermoelements being controllable by the regulation in such a way that the slot can be adjusted by the action of a mechanical force from the respective adjusting element on the first nozzle lip, as a result of the expansion or contraction of the thermoelements. At an initial operation of the nozzle assembly for conveying the melt, the adjusting elements for subsequent regulation of the slot size are set uniquely free from play as the initial setting. The invention further relates to a control and/or regulation system.
BIAXIALLY STRETCHED POLYPROPYLENE FILM, METALLIZED FILM, METALLIZED FILM ROLL AND FILM CAPACITOR
A biaxially stretched polypropylene film which has a thickness of from 1.0 μm to 3.5 μm, a tensile fracture stress at 135° C. of 70 MPa or more in a first direction, and a difference between the tensile fracture stress at 125° C. in the first direction and the tensile fracture stress at 135° C. in the first direction of from 0 MPa to 15 MPa (inclusive).
BIAXIALLY-STRETCHED POLYESTER FILM, LAMINATE AND PACKAGING BAG
To provide a biaxially-stretched polyester film that can be used as a base film for vapor deposition, has excellent barrier properties, dimensional stability, processability, bag breakage resistance, and chemical resistance, and has less transfer of an extract to contents after retorting. A biaxially-stretched polyester film having features (a), (b), (c), and (d) below and having a thickness of 10 to 30 μm: (a) the biaxially-stretched polyester film is formed from a polyester resin composition containing a polybutylene terephthalate resin (A) in a range of 60% by mass or more; (b) a thermal shrinkage of the biaxially-stretched polyester film at 150° C. for 30 minutes is −2 to +2%; (c) thickness accuracy of the biaxially-stretched polyester film is 1 to 20%; and (d) a total amount of 1,4-butanediol and tetrahydrofuran volatilized during heating at a temperature of 135° C. for 60 minutes is not more than 2000 ppb.
Biaxially oriented, UV-stabilized, single- or multilayer polyester film with a combination of silicon dioxide particles as light-scattering particles and UV stabilizer, process for producing same and use thereof in greenhouse blinds
The invention relates to biaxially oriented, UV-stabilized polyester films incorporating silicon dioxide particles as light-scattering particles and a UV stabilizer; a process for producing the same and to use thereof in greenhouse blinds. The invention particularly relates to single- or multilayer polyester film with transparency from 70 to 92 %, where: the film includes at least 1.0% by weight to at most 2.5% by weight of SiO.sub.2, with the d.sub.50 value of these SiO.sub.2 particles ranging from 3 to 9 μm, the SV value of the film is at least 700, the scattering factor SF of the film is at least 2 and not more than 8, the haze of the film is from 60 to 95%, and the clarity of the film is from 15 to 40%; and all of the external layers comprise at least 0.3 % by weight of an organic UV stabilizer.
Transparent, biaxially oriented polyester film with smooth surface on one side and with good windability
The invention relates to an at least three-layer biaxially oriented polyester film including at least one base layer B, one rough outer layer A and one smooth outer layer C, where the layers A and C are external layers arranged on opposing surfaces of the base layer B. The outer layer A includes calcium carbonate particles. The outer layer C includes less than 0.1% by weight of particles (where the percentage by weight data are based on the weight of the layer). The polyester used to produce all of the layers includes no 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic-acid-derived units as repeating units. The entire film includes less than 0.3% by weight (based on the weight of the entire film) of particles. The invention further relates to processes for producing the film, and also to use of the latter as process film for the provision of surface properties, in particular for furniture surfaces.
Multilayer Films and Laminates Containing Slip Agents
The coextruded multilayer film has at least two layers, including a sealant layer and a second layer in contact with the sealant layer. The sealant layer contains (A) a first ethylene-based polymer having a density from 0.865 g/cc to 0.930 g/cc and a melt index from 0.5 g/10 min to 25 g/10 min; (B) an unsaturated primary fatty acid amide having a melting point of 100° C. or less; and (C) a saturated primary fatty acid amide having a melting point greater than 100° C. The unsaturated primary fatty acid amide and the saturated primary fatty acid amide have a weight ratio of from 3:1 to 1:6. The second layer contains a second ethylene-based polymer. The present disclosure also provides a laminate containing said sealant layer.

Stretched elastic films include a polyolefin, a styrene block copolymer, a non-styrene block copolymer, or a combination thereof. Methods for forming polymeric films and articles of manufacture prepared therefrom are described.
EXTRUSION DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR EXTRUDING A SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCT MADE OF ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL
The invention relates an extrusion device (100) for extruding a semi¬finished product made of elastomeric material, comprising an extrusion body (10) extending along a feeding direction (A) and a pump (20) arranged downstream of the extrusion body (10) along said feeding direction (A). The extrusion body (10) comprises a hopper (30) for loading an elastomeric material and an extrusion screw (50) extending along said feeding direction (A) and having an inlet portion (50a) arranged close to the hopper (30) and an exit portion (50b) arranged close to the pump (20). The extrusion body (10) also comprises a motorised roller (40) arranged at the inlet portion (50a) of the extrusion screw (50) and configured to receive the elastomeric material from the hopper (30) and feed it to the extrusion screw (30). The extrusion screw (50) has a length and a diameter such that the ratio between length and diameter is comprised between 4 mm and 8 mm. The invention also relates to an extrusion process carried out through the aforementioned extrusion device (100).
ELASTIC COMPOSITE SHEET MANUFACTURING METHOD AND MANUFACTURING DEVICE
An elastic resin material having a thermoplastic elastic resin as a main component is heated and melted, and the elastic resin material is discharged in a film or a linear shape from a discharge mechanism to form a film-shape or a linear-shape intermediate product. At a temperature above the temperature region at which the elastic resin material elastically deforms, extending is performed until the thickness or width of the film-shape intermediate product or the thickness of the linear-shape intermediate product assumes a prescribed value; with a cooling roller, the intermediate product is cooled to the temperature region at which the elastic resin material elastically deforms, and the intermediate product is hardened, forming a film-shape or linear-shape elastic member. The elastic member is stretched with a stretch roller to a prescribed stretching ratio, and the stretched elastic member is laminated on and bonded to a first base material sheet.

A method of manufacturing a polymer film includes melting a resin, extruding the melted resin through a die to produce a polymer film, shaping the polymer film, cooling the polymer film, capturing an image of a test pattern through the polymer film, calculating a modulation transfer function value from the image, and adjusting a process parameter of the melting, the extruding, the shaping, or the cooling based on the calculated modulation transfer function value.
