Apparatus and method for automatically analyzing extruded films
The invention relates to an apparatus for automatically analyzing extruded films, in particular stretched films, wherein a neck-in portion is formed at each of both edges of the film at a specific distance from an extrusion lip of a film extruder along the longitudinal transport direction of the film, and a respective method. The apparatus comprises two edge detectors being arranged along a first line substantially transversal to the longitudinal direction and being spaced from each other by a specific distance, wherein each one edge detector is configured to detect, preferably to continuously detect the lateral position of one respective edge of the neck-in portion of the film, a calculation means for determining the spatial relation between at least one lateral position at the extrusion lip and a respective lateral position at the neck-in portion on the basis of the two lateral positions of the edges of the neck-in portion of the film.
Oriented polypropylene film with improved blocking resistance
The present disclosure is directed to a film formulation that resulted in a substantially non-migratory cold seal release film with improved blocking resistance. Specifically, the multilayered biaxially oriented polypropylene film can include a core layer of polypropylene homopolymer; a first outer layer on one side of the core layer that can be suitable for sealing, printing, or coating; and a second outer layer on the opposite side of the core layer that is a blocking resistant layer comprising thermoplastic polymers which reduce blocking tendency.
Method for automatically regulating the size of a slot of a nozzle assembly and control and/or regulation system
The invention relates to a method for automatically regulating the size of a nozzle discharge slot of a nozzle assembly, wherein the nozzle assembly comprises a first and a second nozzle lip and a nozzle discharge slot arranged between the nozzle lips for setting in a controlled manner a thickness profile of a conveyable melt. A plurality of adjusting elements, in particular a plurality of adjusting pins, which are coupled to a respective thermoelement, is arranged at the first nozzle lip, wherein the thermoelements are controllable by the regulation in such a way that the slot adjustment can be realized by the action of a mechanical force from the respective adjusting element on the first nozzle lip as a result of an expansion or contraction of the thermoelements. An adjustment of the adjusting elements is carried out automatically based on measurement signals of at least one sensor, wherein the sensor is designed and/or arranged at the nozzle assembly in such a way that conclusions can be drawn about the thickness profile of the melt. The right-hand and left-hand edge region of the melt is monitored by means of the sensor and is controlled or regulated in such a way that the respective edge region is set by adjusting the adjusting elements depending on the material, in particular viscosity and/or viscoelasticity, and/or quality criteria and/or a conveying speed. The invention further relates to a control and/or regulation system.
WIRE GRID STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR, AND PROJECTION SCREEN
A wire grid structure and a manufacturing method therefor, and a projection screen are provided. The manufacturing method includes: extruding a molten mixed material body in a melt extruder to a casting roll to form a casting piece; patterning the casting piece by means of an impression roll to form a precursor having a preset wire grid structure pattern, where the precursor is wound on the impression roll and has a first dimension in a height direction; stretching the precursor by a first group of stretching rolls and a second group of stretching rolls in two opposite directions along a direction perpendicular to the height direction to form the wire grid structure, a preset distance being configured between the first group of stretching rolls and the second group of stretching rolls. The wire grid structure has a second dimension in the height direction that is greater than the second dimension.

The invention relates to a low pressure extruder (3) for manufacturing a low density plastic composite material, characterized in that, the volume between the cylinder and the screw per unit length is not decreased along the direction from the hopper to the die in order that the mixture is extruded at low pressure in the melted state out of the cylinder of the extruder; the die is heated by the heater to maintain the melted state of the material in order not to create resistance to the flow in the process of pushing the material mixture out of the cylinder of the extruder. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method and equipment for manufacturing this material.

The present invention relates to a multilayer film comprising a layer (a) and a layer (c), in each case based on at least one propylene copolymer in an amount of at least 15% by weight, at least one propylene polymer in an amount of at least 40% by weight, in each case based on the total weight of the layer (a)/(c), at least one multi-ply inner layer (b) based on at least one homo- and/or copolyamide comprising isophoronediamine units as a polyamide component, adhesion promoter layers (d) and (e), wherein the thickness of the multi-ply layer (b) is at least 40% of the total thickness of the multilayer film, preferably at least 45% or at least 50%.
SOLAR-REACTIVE MULCH FILM
A solar reactive mulch film comprising one or more layers of heat shrink material pre-strained at a predetermined temperature and tension. Immediately cooling the pre-strained layers retains molecular deformation stresses in the material which facilitate shrinkage but not expansion on exposure to solar radiation. The mulch film adapted to be laid over longitudinal growing beds and held tautly by burying its side edges in soil. Exposure of uncovered portions of film to solar radiation causes shrinkage in one or more directions whereby in combination with the weight of the soil holding it down, maintains tautness of the mulch over a growing period. Low shrinkage low oligomer polyester film and method for manufacturing the same
A low shrinkage low oligomer polyester film and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The method includes forming at least one polyester composition into an unstretched polyester thick film and stretching the unstretched polyester thick film in a machine direction (MD) and a transverse direction (TD) at a stretch ratio of two to six times. The polyester composition includes 94% to 99.974% by weight of a polyester resin, 0.01% to 1% by weight of a primary antioxidant, 0.01% to 1% by weight of a secondary antioxidant, 0.003% to 2% by weight of a nucleating agent, and 0.003% to 2% by weight of a flow aid. The polyester resin has an intrinsic viscosity between 0.60 dl/g and 0.80 dl/g.
Method of making an antimicrobial multilayer film
The presently disclosed subject matter is generally directed to packaging materials having at least one antimicrobial agent and methods of making thereof. A multilayer film including a sealant layer with a polymeric substrate, a lauroyl arginate moiety, and an ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer is disclosed. Such packaging materials are suitable for use in the packaging of food products to control microbial contamination.
