Method to make tube-in-tube balloon
A tube-in-tube assembled parison for preparation of an elongated medical device. The parison if formed by assembling in tube-in-tube fashion a first tube of orientable polymer material and a second tube formed of orientable polymer material disposed around the first tube, with an adhesive tie layer disposed between the first and second tubes. The tubes are brought into contact to form a unitary parison. The adhesive may allow movement between the polymer layers during balloon blowing. The first tube, or the second tube, or both, may have been longitudinally pre-stretched after formation thereof but before assembly of the parison.
Method and machine for producing containers by injecting a liquid inside successive preforms
A method of analyzing preforms for potential bursting during forming and filling by injecting an incompressible liquid to shape the successive heating preforms into containers and fill the containers. The method defines at least one stress parameter correlated to the internal stress of the thermoplastic material of the preform and defines a range of acceptable values for the stress parameter. The method includes analyzing each successive initial preform and each successive heated preform, determining a value of the stress parameter, comparing the determined value to a range of acceptable values, and emitting an output signal when the determined value is outside the acceptable range of values.
Preform extended finish for processing light weight ecologically beneficial bottles
Disclosed are preforms which incorporate improvements in the region of the neck and upper segment of the body to allow the production of lightweight containers, such as bottles suitable for containing water or other beverages. In accordance with certain embodiments, the improvements include a thinner neck finish area than conventional bottles, where the thinner area is extended into the upper segment of the body portion below the support ring. Reducing the thickness in these areas of the bottle allows for less resin to be used in forming the preform and bottle.
Preform for a blow molding operation
A method and a preform for blow molding to form a plastic container are disclosed, the preform having a coating formed on an inner surface thereof. The coating reduces a loss of heat energy from the heated preform during expansion thereof to ensure the preform maintains a temperature at or above the phase change/solidification temperature of the material forming the preform.
Process for producing injection stretch blow molded polyolefin containers
Injection stretch blow molding process for preparing polyolefin containers, comprising the following steps: 1) preparing a preform by injection molding a polyolefin composition comprising a polymer (A) selected from ethylene polymers, propylene polymers and mixtures thereof, and a heat absorber (B); 2) supplying heat to reheat the preform prepared in step 1) and stretch blow molding said preform; wherein the heat absorber (B) is selected from phosphates, condensed phosphates, phosphites, and mixed hydroxide/phosphate oxanion compounds of Copper (Cu), Calcium (Ca), Tin (Sn) and/or Iron (Fe).
Counter stretch connecting rod and positive fill level control rod
A mold device and a method related thereto for forming a plastic container from a preform. The mold device comprises a mold defining a mold cavity, an optional stretch initiation rod system for engaging an interior portion of the preform to define a stretch initiation area, and a centrally disposed pressure source positionable within the preform for introducing a pressurized fluid.
Process for single-step forming and filling of containers
A process for the manufacturing and filling of plastic containers, the process comprising the steps of: positioning a preform with relation to a mold assembly of two or more components, the preform generally being fabricated from a plastic and being provided with a longitudinal axis and presenting a stretchable portion and a non-stretchable portion; stretching the preform along its longitudinal axis; injecting a fluid into the interior volume of the preform, the fluid being under such pressure as to cause the preform to plastically deform until achieving the desired size and shape; and releasing the container from the mold assembly and sealing the container, and in which at least a portion of the stretchable portion of the perform is at a temperature below its vitreous transition temperature (Tg) and, preferably, at ambient temperatures.
Ampoule filled with a medical liquid and method for producing same and system used therefor
Disclosed is a method and a system for producing an ampoule filled with a medical liquid. A preform is produced by plastic injection moulding that is then inhomogeneously heated and blown to form an ampoule body. Further disclosed is an ampoule produced by means of stretching and blowing, which comprises a connector with a break-off part in which the predetermined breaking point is aligned with the septum of the connector.
