LASER WELDING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING COOLING MASK TO CONTROL THE WIDTH OF THE WELD
A laser welding method and system for joining portions of first and second workpieces of thermoplastic material that is partially permeable to a laser beam but absorbs radiation from the laser beam. The first and second workpieces, which are made of material that absorbs radiation from a laser beam, are clamped together. A mask is placed on a first surface of the first workpiece, the first surface being opposite the surface engaging the second workpiece. The mask is impermeable to a laser beam and forms a slot for passing a laser beam to the portion of the first surface of the upper workpiece exposed by the slot, so that heating and melting of the material of the workpieces is limited to the width of the slot. A laser beam is directed onto the slot and moved in a manner to illuminate the slot to melt and join the workpieces.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INSPECTING A MICROFLUIDIC ROTOR DEVICE
Described herein are various embodiments directed to rotor devices, systems, and kits. Embodiments of rotors disclosed herein may be used to characterize one or more analytes of a fluid. A method may include aligning an apparatus to an imaging device. The apparatus may include a set of wells defined by a first layer coupled to a second layer. The first layer may be substantially transparent to infrared radiation. The second layer may define a channel. The second layer may be substantially absorbent to the infrared radiation. The apparatus may further include a third layer coupled to the second layer and define an opening configured to receive a fluid. The third layer may be substantially transparent to the infrared radiation. A set of images of the apparatus may be generated using the imaging device. Bonding information may be generated based on the set of images.

METHOD FOR CREATING A CONNECTION BETWEEN COMPONENTS CONSISTING OF DIFFERENT PLASTIC MATERIALS AND ASSOCIATED CONTAINER WITH POURING ATTACHMENT
A method for creating a connection between components of different plastics. A first section can consist of a first plastic whose main constituent is polarised plastic, and a second section can consist of a second plastic whose main constituent is non-polar plastic. The method includes creating the connection between the first section and the second section with help of beamed-in laser energy; subjecting the first section to incident laser energy, the first section being at least partly transparent with regard to the incident laser energy; and absorbing beamed-in laser energy at least partly in a joining region, in which the first and the second sections bear on one another in an overlapping manner amid action of force, to create a positive, unreleasable connection between the two components.
WATER PASSING COMPONENT, AND LASER WELDING DEVICE AND WELDING METHOD THEREOF
A water passing component, a laser welding device and a welding method thereof are presented. The water passing component comprises a hose and a hose joint, the hose joint and the hose matched and connected to form a connecting and matching position. The connecting and matching position can be melted under laser beams to weld the hose and the hose joint into a whole; the width of a gap of a weld matching surface corresponding to the connecting and matching position is less than 0.075 mm. The present invention melts the connecting and matching position using the laser welding technology to weld the hose and the hose joint into a whole. The transparency of the hose and the hose joint is not limited, and there is no requirement for the transparency of the hose and the hose joint, thereby reducing production cost, increasing production efficiency and expanding use.
Manufacturing method of bonding structure and bonding structure
A bonding structure manufacturing method for manufacturing a bonding structure in which a first member and a second member are bonded is provided with: a step for forming a perforation with an opening in the surface of the first member and forming a protrusion that protrudes into the inner circumferential surface of the perforation; a step for disposing the region of the first member where the perforation is formed adjacent to the second member; and step for filling and curing the second member in the perforation of the first member by irradiating a laser on the region of the first member where the perforation is formed from the second member side.
WELDING PROCESS FOR SEALING A BATTERY MODULE
The present disclosure relates to a battery module that includes a housing having a first protruding shelf along a first perimeter of the housing, a second protruding shelf along a second perimeter of the housing, where the first and second protruding shelves each include an absorptive material configured to absorb a first laser emission. The battery module also includes an electronics compartment cover configured to be coupled to the housing via a first laser weld, and a cell receptacle region cover configured to be coupled to the housing via a second laser weld. The electronics compartment cover has a first transparent material configured to transmit the first laser emission toward the first protruding shelf and the cell receptacle region cover has a second transparent material configured to transmit the first laser emission or a second laser emission toward the second protruding shelf.
