INTEGRATED SQUEEZABLE CONTAINERS AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Systems and methods are presented herein for a method of attaching a strip to a housing. An internal support member is inserted into a collapsible housing, such that it is arranged along a longitudinal axis of an inner surface of the collapsible housing. An outer support member is arranged along an outer surface the collapsible housing opposite the internal support member. A strip is positioned along the outer surface using the outer support member and the internal support member. Then the strip is permanently welded to the outer surface using a welding element. Welding is performed by a welding element located in one (or both) of the internal support member or the outer support member.
AN APPARATUS FOR QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF A SEALING SECTION OF A PACKAGE FOR FOOD PRODUCTS, AND A METHOD THEREOF
An apparatus for quality assessment of a sealing section of a package for food products. The package includes at least a robustness layer and a plastic layer. The sealing section is formed by holding a first section and a second section of the package against each other while providing heat such that the plastic layer of the first and second section melt and the first and second section adhere to each other. The apparatus includes a sample holder arranged for fixating a sample including the sealing section of the package. At least part of the sample holder is transparent, a magnification device arranged on a first side of the sample holder, and an illumination device arranged on a second side of the sample holder. Light is provided to the magnification device through the sample holder The first and second side are opposite sides of the sample holder.
Thermally laminated tab liner
Liner having an induction heat sealable layer for sealing to a rim of a container, and a pull tab for ease of removal of the liner from the container rim. An insert is disposed between multilayer upper and lower components, has a heat bondable polyolefin layer that is thermally laminated to polyolefin layers of the upper and lower components, forming a pull tab between the integrated polyolefin layers. The resulting composite resists delamination and can be formed in a single thermal lamination step, avoiding the multiple lamination steps, associated high equipment costs, and complex layer constructions of the prior art.
Method for producing a cartridge and cartridge
A cartridge for a dispensing device contains at least one elongate film pouch, which is inherently non-rigid and which has a chamber for receiving a composition. The cartridge also contains a head part for interacting with the film pouch. The film pouch has an opening on a side facing the head part, which is closed by a cover. The cover has a predetermined breaking region. A method can be used for producing such a cartridge.
PRESSURE ELEMENT AND SEALING DEVICE FOR A PACKAGING ASSEMBLY HAVING A PRESSURE ELEMENT
A pressure element for a sealing device includes a sealing member and a countersealing member facing one another and configured to be pressed against one another to seal therebetween a tube of packaging material adapted to be filled with a pourable product. The pressure element comprises a fitting portion configured to be fitted to the countersealing member and a contact portion defining a contact surface facing, in use, the sealing member and configured to interact with a sealing element of the sealing member to press and seal the tube therebetween. The pressure element comprises at least one engagement element configured to cooperate with a complementary engagement element carried by the countersealing member to guide the pressure element according to a predetermined orientation during fitting of the pressure element to the countersealing member.
Non-foil packaging laminate, method for manufacturing of the packaging laminate and packaging container produced thereof
A non-foil packaging laminate for liquid food packaging comprises a layer of paper or other cellulose-based material, outermost liquid tight, heat sealable layers of polyolefin-based polymers and, vapour-deposition coated onto the inner side of the layer of paper or cellulose-based material, an induction heat susceptible metal coating. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing of the packaging laminate, a packaging container that is made from the packaging laminate and a method of induction heat sealing the packaging laminate into packaging containers.
Method and an apparatus for applying a sealing strip to a web of packaging material
A method of applying a sealing strip onto a web of packaging material comprising advancing the web along a web advancement path; applying a first longitudinal portion of the sealing strip onto a longitudinal edge of the web, sealing the first longitudinal portion of the sealing strip onto the longitudinal edge, detecting and/or determining a correct alignment of the sealing strip with respect to the web. The detecting and/or determining of the correct alignment comprises acquiring an image of a second longitudinal portion of the sealing strip and a reference marker of a strip application apparatus, analyzing the acquired image to determine at least a first transversal distance between the reference marker and a longitudinal border of the second longitudinal portion; and evaluating the correct alignment/misalignment as a function of at least the first transversal distance.
Cap and induction seal designed to be opened by piercing in a diagnostic analyzer
Embodiments are directed to a removable cap with a top hole and a seal with a heat induction closure for sealing an opening of a container. Advantageously, the cap and the seal do not need to be removed for a probe to access contents of the container, when used in a diagnostic analyzer, thereby eliminating operator steps of cap removal and seal peeling/perforation. Automated opening of the cap and seal combination is provided by puncturing the seal. The seal retains its opened shape required for unobstructed, non-contact probe access to contents of the container. The seal is comprised of three layers: a first polymer sealing layer capable of being heat-sealed to a container; an aluminum foil layer on top of the first polymer sealing layer, configured to heat seal the first layer by inductive heating; and a second polymer layer on top of the aluminum foil layer for protection.
Heat-sealable packaging material
The present invention is directed to a packaging material free from aluminium in the form of a continuous foil or film, comprising a layer of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC), wherein the layer comprising MFC has been laminated or coated on at least one side with a heat-sealable material. The MFC layer contains at least 60% by weight of microfibrillated cellulose. The present invention is also directed to a method for induction sealing, wherein a packaging material to be heat-sealed by induction is placed against an induction heating surface.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE HIGH-SPEED APPLICATION OF PAPER-BASED END CLOSURES ON COMPOSITE CONTAINERS
A system for assembling a container and closure comprising an expanding collet which has a plurality of pivoting collet segments, each configured to simultaneously pivot radially outward about a pivot point and comprising. The collet comprises a lip that is engagable with the rim of the open end of the container and an angled tip positioned radially inward from the lip and shaped to press a countersink portion of the closure against an interior wall of the container as the collet segments pivot radially outward. As the container and the chuck are brought together, the rim engages with the lips of the collet segments and causes the angled tips of the collet segments to pivot outward toward the interior wall of the container, thereby pushing the countersink portion of the closure against the interior wall of the container.
