Co-curing process for the joining of composite structures
A method of fabricating a composite assembly may include providing a first laminate and a second laminate respectively formed of first and second composite plies, and having a respective first and second cured section and a respective first and second uncured section. The method may further include interleaving the first composite plies in the first uncured section with the second composite plies in the second uncured section to form an interfacial region. The method may additionally include curing the interfacial region to join the first laminate to the second laminate and form a unitized composite assembly.
MANUFACTURE OF HEAT EXCHANGERS VIA HYBRID WELDING
A method for forming a hybrid heat exchanger is provided. The method includes laser-texturing a metal surface to create a plurality of microstructures and subsequently melt-bonding a plastic component to the plurality of microstructures. During melt-bonding, plastic material penetrates the plurality of microstructures and conforms to the plastic component to the metal surface. After hardening inside the microstructures, the plastic component adheres to the metal surface as a hybrid component. As a result, a fastener or snap connection is not required, and the plastic-metal joint provides a barrier to water, glycol-based fluids, air, and other fluids.
Welding assembly and method for producing a welding assembly
A welding assembly having a support part, of a material that is absorbent to a laser radiation, and an attachment part, with at least one collar piece that is transparent to the laser radiation. The support part and the at least one collar piece have a first joining area and a second joining area, which together form a joining region. The surface contours of the joining areas deviate from one another, and so, when the welding assembly is being joined together, the collar pieces are deformed while they come to bear closely against the support part. The attachment part is formed in such a way that it can be taken up by a receiving mandrel and positioned with respect to the support part and pressed against it by means of the receiving mandrel.
METHOD FOR WELDING PARTS MADE OF THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL
The invention first relates to a method for welding at least two parts comprising a thermoplastic material and having respective surfaces to be welded, comprising: inserting an insert between the surfaces to be welded of the two parts; generating heat via said insert; wherein the insert moves in relation to the parts to be welded in a welding direction. The invention also relates to an installation adapted for implementation of this method.
OPTIMIZATION OF THE ACTIVATION OF ADHESIVE AGENTS BY LASER RADIATION
The present invention relates to devices with which, for example, narrow surfaces of preferably plate-like workpieces can be provided with a coating material. The device includes a laser for outputting a laser beam to a laser beam emitter, wherein the laser beam is directed onto the coating material or onto the workpiece in such a manner that the laser beam forms a plane of reference with solder on the surface of the coating material or the workpiece.
JOINING METHOD, JOINING BODY, STATOR FOR DYNAMO-ELECTRIC MACHINE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING STATOR FOR DYNAMO-ELECTRIC MACHINE
The present invention is provided with: an insulation holder formed of a thermoplastic resin material and having a first opening; a wire connection ring formed of a thermoplastic resin material and having a second opening; and a joining component inserted astride in the first opening and the second opening, the joining component being formed of a metal material having a higher melting point than those of the thermoplastic resin materials, the joining component having a higher stiffness than those of the insulation holder and the wire connection ring, wherein a welded part is formed by welding in at least a part of an area where each of the Insulation holder and the wire connection ring has contact with the joining component.
Conduit and method of forming
A thin ribbon spirally wound polymer conduit and method of forming, wherein a helical reinforcing bead is interposed adjacent overlapping layers of ribbon. Further, a method of continuously forming spirally wound conduit wherein a sacrificial layer, preferably having a different base polymer to that of the conduit, is first applied to the former before the conduit is formed overtop.
Method for welding synthetic resin member
A protrusion on a first member made of synthetic resin wherein a laser beam is applied to a side surface of the protrusion in a state in which a top surface of the protrusion of the first member is abutted against a second member made of synthetic resin, so as to melt at least the entire top surface of the protrusion and melt a portion of the second member in contact with the protrusion by heat of the melted top surface of the protrusion, followed by solidification of the melted portions, whereby the first member and the second member are welded together.
VEHICLE GRILLE
A vehicle grille includes: a grille panel; a lens panel disposed at a rear side of the grille panel, formed in a same shape as some or entire area of the grille panel, and, when a light is incident, configured to allow some of the light to propagate in the lens panel and emit some of the light to an outside of the lens panel; and a housing disposed on a rear surface of the lens panel, formed in a same shape as the lens panel, and including a coupling provision hole configured to allow a front surface of the lens panel to be coupled to a rear surface of the grille panel at a rear side of the lens panel, wherein the rear surface of the lens panel and a front surface of the housing are coupled at the front side of the lens panel.
Edge trim for pieces of furniture
An edge trim for pieces of furniture, including a meltable layer, is described. The molecular structure of the meltable layer contains both polar and non-polar parts. By way of a non-limiting example, an edge trim for pieces of furniture having an exposed edge of wooden or wood substitute material is described, comprising a molten layer and a structural layer, wherein the structural layer and the molten layer are connected in an adhesive bond, wherein the molten layer is made of a material that is chemically modified such that polar and non-polar components are found in a single molecular structure, wherein the molten layer contains energy absorbing additives, wherein the energy absorbing additives of the molten layer are selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal phosphates, metal salts of organic anions and combinations thereof.
