SEGMENTED COMPOSITE TUBE ASSEMBLY WITH SCARF JOINTS
A hollow tube assembly is constructed from two or more concave segments, each having longitudinal edges that are tapered perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the assembly with substantially identical tapers. The respective tapered edges are joined at respective joining faces forming scarf joints, either with or without applying an adhesive between opposing joining faces. The overall thickness of the scarf joint may substantially correspond to the thickness of the segments. The scarf joints may be straight or arcuate. The segments may be constructed by overlaying layers of a composite material made of carbon fiber reinforced polymers and may be provided in pre-impregnated (prepreg) form.
Penetration fitting
Disclosed is an apparatus, a kit, and a method for repairing a sump wall pipe fitting. The apparatus may comprise first and second fitting halves for repairing a penetration fitting for a sump wall, the fitting halves having a semi-annular flange with a seal plate adapted to be sealed to the sump wall; at least one semi-cylindrical cuff that extends axially outward from surface of the semi-annular flange opposite the seal plate; and a semi-annular rib that extends radially inward from the semi-annular flange spaced at a distance between the seal plate and a rim of the at least one semi-cylindrical cuff. A dispensed bonder may also be included.
Plastic container
The present invention relates to a container (10) which is produced in a blow molding process and is made of thermoplastic materialpreferably a bung drumhaving a welded-on bung connector, prefabricated in an injection molding process and having an internal thread, for the storage and transport of liquid or free-flowing contents. In order to eliminate disadvantageous material distortion in blow-molded containers as a result of relatively long cooling times of thick locations, e.g. at threaded bungs and flash seams, according to the invention formed in the top (30) of the container (10) is a shortened welded bung connector (32), onto which a solid threaded welding head (12), prefabricated in an injection molding process and having an internal thread (20), is welded.
TUBE SKIRT DECORATED WITH AN ATTRACTIVE LATERAL WELDING
A flat strip 1, suitable for forming a tube flexible skirt, comprising a decorative film 15 superimposed on a primary film 16, said primary film 16 consisting of a series of polymeric layers and comprising a sealable inner layer 14 at the lower surface 20 of the strip 1, said decorative film 15 comprising a sealable outer layer 7 at the upper surface 19 of the strip 1 and a decorative layer 8, 9.
The primary film 16 comprises means for stabilizing the strip 1 and protecting the decorative layer 8,9 against heating.
PLASTIC CONTAINER
A method for creating a container is disclosed. The method can include creating a container body from a thermoplastic material via a blow molding process to thereby form a first opening extending through a top of the container body, creating a bung attachment part via an injection molding process to thereby form a second opening extending through the bung attachment part and an internally threaded surface located within the second opening, and attaching the bung attachment part to the top of the container body such that the second opening is at least partially aligned with the first opening.
Staged cocuring of composite structures
A composite structure is fabricated by staging at least a portion of an uncured, first composite component. The first composite component is assembled with a second composite component, and the staged portion of the first composite component is cocured with the second composite component.
Apparatus for laser transmission welding, method for laser transmission welding, and a receptacle which is produced thereby and is closed by sheet
A method for producing a receptacle which is closed by a sheet by transmission laser welding, and to an apparatus suitable to carry out same. The method and the apparatus are configured in such a way that a weld seam is formed between the wall structure of the receptacle and the sheet so as to be wider than the end faces of the wall structure.
