METHOD OF REINFORCING A SEAM AND A PRODUCT WITH A REINFORCED SEAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE METHOD
A method of reinforcing a seam on a body involves folding a seam allowance into a series of accordion folds to form a series of parallel reinforcement layers. The parallel reinforcement layers are of similar size and form a ridge. A ridge cap of flexible material is placed over the ridge. The ridge cap provides at least one further parallel reinforcement layer. The method involves securing the ridge cap and parallel reinforcement layers together with rows of stitching, with the stitching extending through all of the parallel reinforcement layers.
FILMS AND BAGS WITH VISUALLY DISTINCT REGIONS
One or more implementations of a multi-layer film include a first layer non-continuously bonded to a second pigmented layer. The multi-layer film includes an unexpected appearance differing from the appearance of the pigmented layer. In one or more embodiments, the multi-layer film includes a metallic appearance despite the pigmented layer being devoid of metallic pigment. The multi-layer film also includes areas that are visually distinct from areas of the film with the unexpected appearance. The visually-distinct areas comprise areas in which the first layer non-continuously is in intimate contact with the second pigmented layer. The visually-distinct areas have the appearance of the pigmented layer or another appearance. One or more implementations also include methods of making multi-layer films and bags with an unexpected appearance and visually-distinct areas.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GATHERED OR GATHERABLE MATERIAL
The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing a gathered material, wherein the material consists of two material web portions and a thread positioned between the material web portions and the two material web portions are connected to one another at two connecting surfaces, wherein the thread is disposed between the two connecting surfaces such that the thread is connected to the material web portions, wherein the apparatus comprises a sonotrode having a first sealing surface and a counter tool having a second sealing surface, wherein the counter tool is cylindrical with a lateral surface and a cylinder axis and the second sealing surface is disposed on the lateral surface, wherein the sonotrode and the counter tool are disposed with respect to one another in a processing position such that the material web portions and the thread can be guided through a gap formed by the first and the second sealing surface in a feed direction tangential to the lateral surface of the counter tool. To overcome or at least mitigate the described drawbacks, it is proposed according to the invention that the sonotrode comprise a groove which is oriented in feed direction and extends over the entire first sealing surface for receiving the thread.
MATERIAL WELDER
A material welder for welding at least two portions of a weldable material together, including: a top bar assembly and a bottom bar assembly, a portion of the top bar assembly directly above a portion of the bottom bar assembly, the top bar assembly including a first and second heating element substantially in the same plane and the bottom bar assembly including a first and second heating element substantially in the same plane, at least one heating device adapted to selectively heat the first heating elements and/or second heating elements, an actuator device adapted to move the top bar assembly towards the bottom bar assembly and/or the bottom bar assembly towards the top bar assembly, such that the first heating element of the top bar assembly aligns with the first heating element of the bottom bar assembly and the second heating element of the top bar assembly aligns with the second heating element of the bottom bar assembly; a contact surface of the top bar assembly and a contact surface of the bottom bar assembly adapted to contact the material during a welding process.
Depth control of seal line penetration for rotary ultrasonic horn/anvil welding without mechanical stop
An apparatus for joining a first film portion and a second film portion together along a seal line. The apparatus includes a horn and an anvil. The anvil is positionable in close proximity to the horn. Either the horn or the anvil has a face with a width dimension and a circumference and is rotatable about a rotation axis. The face has a raised profile, and a height of the raised profile has a dimension corresponding to 50% to 150% of a thickness of the first film portion or the second film portion. The face is positioned such that the raised profile extends along the circumference such that continuous running contact is provided between the raised profile and the other of the one of the horn or the anvil when rotated about the rotation axis, to form the seal line without any external structure to control a distance between the horn and the anvil.
Feed for plastic-wrapping
A device (1) for delivery of film for a station for packaging by plastic-wrapping, includes: at least two reels (2), each including at least one support shaft (3) for a film roll as well as a film guide (4), in particular in the form of a roller downstream from the shaft; a return roller (5), up to which an unwound film (6) travels from the roll of one of the reels (2); a loader for bringing the reserve film (9) from the roll of the at least one other reel (2) close to the unwound film. The loader includes a rotor (10), which rolls up the reserve film (9) around it in such a way as to bring it close to the unwound film (6). A machine that uses this device as well as a corresponding method are also described.
Apparatus and method for making side seams on absorbent articles
The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses configured to bond elastic laminates together between a rotating drum and anvil. The drum includes a fluid nozzle and a press member. As such, a first elastic laminate and a second elastics laminate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating drum. A fluid is heated to a temperature sufficient to partially melt substrate layers of the first and second elastic laminates. As the drum rotates, the press member shifts radially outward from the drum wherein a length, L, of the pattern surface extends in the cross direction across a plurality of elastic strands of first and/or second elastic laminates. And the partially melted portion of the substrate layers of the first and second elastic laminates and the plurality of elastic strands are then bonded together by being compressed between the pattern surface and the anvil roll.
Nebulizer and Reservoir
A reservoir for a nebulizer includes: a tank or bag containing multiple doses of a fluid to be nebulized, and an indicator device for counting or indicating a number of uses performed or still possible with the reservoir, where at least one of: the reservoir includes a connector for fluidically connecting the tank or bag with the nebulizer, the indicator device is actuated by moving the connector relative to the tank or bag, and the reservoir includes or forms an eccentrical linear guidance for a driving part for driving the indicator device.
