The object of the invention is a method of making a wrapping for an elongated object (1). An adhesive tape (2, 3) comprised of a substrate strip (2) and an adhesive coating (3) at least partially covering the substrate strip (2) is combined with an adhesive-free band (4) to form a laminate (2, 3, 4). The substrate strip (2) and the band (4) at least largely overlap, and at the overlap (U), the first adhesive coating (3) is between the substrate strip (2) and the band (4). According to the invention the first adhesive coating (3) at the overlap (U) between the substrate strip (2) and the band (4) is composed of a plurality of spaced adhesive substrips (3).

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEALING A PLASTIC ENCLOSURE
20200276768 · 2020-09-03 ·

A method and apparatus for sealing a plastic enclosure is provided. The apparatus includes a handle including elements pivotally coupled together at a first end. The apparatus also includes a pair of spaced apart heating elements positioned along an inner surface of an element and connected to a power source where a longitudinal axis of the heating elements is oriented parallel with a longitudinal axis of the element. Plastic material including first and second plastic layers is positioned at an interface between the second elements. Upon pivoting the first elements from an open position to a closed position the heating elements increase a temperature at the interface to melt the plastic material and form a pair of spaced apart seals between the first and second plastic layers.

An absorbent body forming satisfactory connections while webs are conveyed at a high speed includes at least two sheets of nonwoven fabric overlapping each other; connections at which the nonwoven fabric sheets are connected together; and an absorbent material disposed between the nonwoven fabric sheets at a small region encircled by the connections. When seen in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the nonwoven fabric sheets, a plurality of the connections is formed with spaces therebetween on each side of imaginary polygons compartmentalizing the nonwoven fabric sheets and neighboring each other, and the connection is formed at least on a middle part of the sides common to the imaginary polygons neighboring each other. The connections are formed sequentially, and simultaneously arranged in a row parallel to each other, and the minimum number of connections per row is at least 45% of the maximum number of connections per row.

Nebulizer and Reservoir

A nebulizer for nebulizing a fluid and a reservoir with a fluid are proposed. The reservoir includes a collapsible bag with the fluid, where the bag extends in a circumferential direction within the housing part and wherein the reservoir is manually rotated for tensioning the nebulizer.

Ultrasonic welding device and ultrasonic welding method for controlling continuous ultrasonic welding processes

An ultrasonic processing method and an ultrasonic processing device may include a controlling/regulating module, preferably a digital controlling/regulating module, which is integrated into a signal processing of the ultrasonic generator so that a plurality of generator data with respect to the ultrasonic generator are processible in the ultrasonic generator. At this, a power actual value P.sub.ist is compared with a power reference value P.sub.soll of the ultrasonic generator via a gap regulator in the controlling/regulating module to specify a position reference value POS.sub.soll of the sonotrode relative to the roll for adjustment of the power reference value P.sub.soll of the ultrasonic generator, and/or a power actual value P.sub.ist is compared with a power reference value P.sub.soll of the ultrasonic generator via an amplitude regulator in the controlling/regulating module to specify an amplitude reference value A.sub.soll to the ultrasonic generator for adjustment of the power reference value P.sub.soll.

Housing assembly and method

A cover for a housing of a vehicle and a method of sealing a cover to the housing, where in at least one example, the cover comprises a cover body configured to cover an opening of the housing and to engage the housing at an interface around the opening. The cover may comprise a heating element embedded within the cover body and operable to at least partially melt a portion of the cover body as a part of a process for sealing the cover to the housing. The portion of the cover body may deform and conform to an interface feature at the mating surface of the housing due to the at least partial melting of the portion of the cover body, and, in some examples, the heating element may be configured to fail and be inoperable.

Making a plastic tank with an integrity-verifiable weld joint

A plastic tank is comprised of two parts, a base and a top, that are permanently joined to each other by welding at a circumferential joint formed by two mating flanges of the parts. Fusion weld elements are captured on the faying surfaces of the flanges of the assembled parts, and the elements are melted by internal heating of metal portions of the elements. Two spaced apart circumferential welds which define an annular space are formed. The pressure within the annular space is changed in a test procedure to verify the integrity of the welds.
