A method for manufacturing a liquid supply member that supplies a discharge port with liquid includes preparing a transparent member and an absorption member, at least one of both members having a groove for a supply path; bringing both members into contact; and forming the supply path by emitting laser beams simultaneously from a plurality of laser beam sources, toward a contact portion, which is provided in a vicinity of the groove and at which both members are in contact, to weld both members. Laser beams are emitted during the forming such that a total laser-beam irradiation amount per unit area for a first portion included in the contact portion and located in a vicinity of an end in a longitudinal direction of the groove is larger than that for part with a smallest irradiation amount of a second portion other than the first portion of the contact portion.

Methods for modifying contours of substrate surfaces are disclosed. Methods include depositing filler material on a critical mating surface of a substrate so as to render the mating surface more mateable with a matching substrate. The filler material can be deposited within or around features or defects on the mating surface such that a final desired surface contour is achieved. In some cases, the final surface contour of the mating surface is planar. This can prevent gaps associated with the features or defects from forming between the substrate and the matching substrate when they are joined together. The final surface contour of the mating surface can be determined by comparing dimensions of the mating surface to dimensions of a reference surface. In some cases, ink jet printing techniques are used to deposit the filler material accurately in prescribed locations and with precise thickness control.

The methods include the steps of overlaying a cover layer on an intermediate layer and the intermediate layer on a base layer such that openings in the intermediate and base layers are aligned and the cover layer overlays the openings; fusing together the cover layer, the intermediate layer and the base layer by applying an annular welding tool face to at least one of the cover layer and base layer and applying welding energy to the template; and applying an adhesive layer on a side the base layer opposite to the intermediate layer, wherein the adhesive layer extends entirely around the opening.

Provided is a method of manufacturing a before-use dissolution infusion bag, the method including: forming a chamber for sealing a content by performing, two or more times, a sealed portion forming step of laminating two resin sheets and bonding a part of the two resin sheets, in which a thickness difference present in the vicinity of a boundary between two sealed portions that are formed by different sealed portion forming steps and are in contact with each other is 50 m or less, and a welding step of welding a cover sheet to a region including a boundary portion between the two sealed portions is provided.
