Joint body of different materials and method for manufacturing the same
The present specification relates to a joint body of different materials, and a method of manufacturing the same. The joint body includes a metal layer; and a resin layer provided on and in contact with one surface of the metal layer. The metal layer comprises two or more etching grooves and two or more burrs provided on a surface of the metal layer adjacent to the etching grooves.
METHOD FOR JOINING DISSIMILAR MATERIALS AND JOINT OF DISSIMILAR MATERIALS
A method for joining dissimilar materials includes forming a first recess and a second recess by irradiating a surface of a first member with laser light, the first recess and the second recess being cut into the surface obliquely at angles different from each other, and joining the second member to the surface of the first member with a part of the second member engaging with each of the first recess and the second recess by melting the part of the second member lower in melting point than the first member to cause the part of the second member to flow into each of the first recess and the second recess and solidifying the part of the second member.
Joining body
The present invention is provided with: an insulation holder formed of a thermoplastic resin material and having a first opening; a wire connection ring formed of a thermoplastic resin material and having a second opening; and a joining component inserted astride in the first opening and the second opening, the joining component being formed of a metal material having a higher melting point than those of the thermoplastic resin materials, the joining component having a higher stiffness than those of the insulation holder and the wire connection ring, wherein a welded part is formed by welding in at least a part of an area where each of the insulation holder and the wire connection ring has contact with the joining component.
HYBRID COMPOSITE MATERIAL BETWEEN A METAL SURFACE AND A POLYMERIC MATERIAL SURFACE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE HYBRID COMPOSITE MATERIAL
The invention is a hybrid composite material between a first joining partner having a metal surface and a second joining partner having a polymeric material surface. A process for producing a hybrid composite material associated therewith is also described. The hybrid composite material according to the invention is characterized in that the metal surface has microstructured depressions, having a diameter and a structure depth in the micrometer range, the microstructured depressions have metallic surface regions which are furnished entirely with nanostructures, the structure dimensions of which are in the nanometer range, the microstructured depressions are blind holes or throughhole openings fully passing through the first joining partner.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOLDING POLYMERIC STRUCTURES
A polymeric structure includes a first polymeric component and a second polymeric component, the first polymeric component including a first mating surface and an opposing first free surface and the second polymeric component including a second mating surface and an opposing second free surface. The first polymeric component and the second polymeric component are positioned with the first mating surface facing the second mating surface. A charge of molten polymer is disposed between the first mating surface and the second mating surface. A compressive force is applied to the first free surface of the first polymeric component and to the second free surface of the second polymeric component in order to secure the first polymeric component to the second polymeric component in order to form the polymeric structure. The polymeric structure may be a construction mat.
System for joining ends of rubber strips to supply an extruder
A system (10) for butt-joining two or more rubber strips (B1, B2) selected in accordance with a predetermined rubber mixture recipe in order to feed at least one extruder with a complex strip of rubber material (B.sub.12) made from the butt joined rubber strips is disclosed. The system includes at least one conveyor that transports the rubber strips from an inlet (12) of the system to an outlet (14) of the butt-joining system; a frame (18) that operationally supports the conveyor to allow the continuous transport of the rubber strips and also to allow the simultaneous butt-joining of the rubber strips fed to the system; and a roller system (20) that butt-joins the rubber strips without penetration. The invention also relates to a process for butt-joining rubber strips that is performed by the system.
Securing a second object to a first object
A method of anchoring a connector in a first object, wherein the first object is a lightweight building element having a first outer building layer and an interlining layer, and wherein the connector includes thermoplastic material in a solid state. The method includes: bringing a coupling surface portion of the connector into contact with an attachment location of the first outer building layer; displacing a portion of the first outer building layer at the attachment location with respect to the interlining layer by applying a first pressing force to the first outer building layer and thereby piercing the first outer building layer; applying a second pressing force to the connector and transferring energy to the connector until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material has liquefied and flown to interpenetrate structures of the interlining layer; and stopping the energy transfer and allowing the flow portion to re-solidify.
Method of manufacturing composite member and the composite member
A method of manufacturing a composite member including an aluminum member and a resin member bonded to each other, the method including: performing blasting on a surface of the aluminum member; modifying the surface of the aluminum member into aluminum hydroxide, the modifying including causing the surface of the aluminum member having undergone blasting to react with water by using at least one of heat and plasma; and directly bonding the resin member to the surface of the aluminum member modified to the aluminum hydroxide.
Joining carbon laminates using pulsed laser irradiation
A method for bonding two elements, the method including receiving first and second elements, the first element being a composite material; applying a laser-based treatment to a surface of the first element to obtain a treated surface; patterning the treated surface to have plural trenches; applying an adhesive to one of the first and second elements; and joining the first element to the second element so that the adhesive is between the first and second elements.
ULTRASONIC WELDING OF DISSIMILAR SHEET MATERIALS
A ultrasonic welding method of joining dissimilar-material workpieces, such as sheet materials, and the joined components formed thereby. The method includes applying ultrasonic energy to a thermoplastic piece to fill a hole of a dissimilar piece to form a weld point that is made up with polymer from the thermoplastic piece. In general, the geometry of the thermoplastic piece is not altered during the process. The dissimilar piece generally has a higher melting temperate and can be metal, thermoset polymers, or other thermoplastic material. The welded pieces can be arranged in a lap, laminate, or double lap configuration. In some embodiments, the hole of the dissimilar sheet material includes undercut features that improve the mechanical interlock between the dissimilar pieces. In some embodiments, the weld point has a mushroom cap to improve mechanical interlock.
