Braided textile sleeve with hot-melt adhesive yarn and method of construction thereof
A protective braided sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve includes a seamless, circumferentially continuous, tubular braided wall having a cavity extending lengthwise along a central longitudinal axis between opposite ends. The wall includes a plurality of yarns braided with one another, with at least one or more of the yarns including a bicomponent yarn including a core and an outer adhesive sheath adapted to be selectively melted to bond the wall to an elongate member extending through the cavity.
Method of forming a package gusset
The present invention is directed to a method of forming a bottom-gusseted package, wherein each package includes an inwardly-extending, pleat-like gusset at the bottom of the package. To permit heat-sealing formation of each package, the sleeve from which each gusset is formed comprises a lamination of two differing polymeric materials, a sealant layer and a non-sealant layer, so that only an exterior surface of each sleeve, at which the sealant layer is positioned, exhibits the desired heat-sealing characteristics. To facilitate package formation, the sleeves from which the bottom gussets are formed are maintained in a closed or sealed configuration during package formation by providing a heat-sealed bond at the edge of each sleeve. In one embodiment, portions of the non-sealant layer are vaporized to provide sealable surface regions of the sealant layer. In an alternative embodiment, a lamination of the sealant and non-sealant layers is formed such that the sealant layer extends laterally beyond the non-sealant layer, to thereby provide sealable surface regions of the sealant layer.
IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO THE SEALING OF PIPE LINERS
The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a pipe liner for lining the inside of a pipe, for example a water or sewerage pipe requiring repair. The pipe liner is mainly formed of a fabric sleeve, or a plurality of fabric sleeves, and comprises a fluid-proof barrier coating on the inside surface of the pipe liner. The method involves arranging a strip of carrier material comprising a liquid sealant inside the fabric sleeve of the pipe liner and in registration with two opposing side edges of the sheet of fabric, facing an inner barrier coating of the fabric sleeve. The method can advantageously provide such a pipe liner with an inner barrier coating without everting the pipe liner after manufacture. The present invention may also provide a way of avoiding internal cross-welding of said pipe liners and a method for testing the integrity of the barrier coating of said pipe liners. The present invention also provides an apparatus for carrying out these methods.
Low opacity thermoformed container having longitudinal seam
A container formed of a common one-piece thermoplastic substrate. The container has an overlapping seam having an overlap magnitude. At a location that is five times the overlap magnitude away from the overlapping seam, the container wall has a container wall Opacity less than about 50%. At a corresponding position along the overlapping sea, the overlapping seam has a seam Opacity that is less than 200% of the container wall Opacity.
REDUCED-FRICTION DRIVE DEVICE
Device for forming a tube, for example a packaging tube, from a sheet (3), said device comprising at least one welding rod (2), means for welding and pressurizing the welded zone (7-9) and means (4-6) for driving the sheet (3) along the rod (2). The device also comprises means (10-12, 14) that reduce the friction between the welding rod (2) and the sheet (3).
Insulating Device and Method for Forming Insulating Device
An insulating device including an outer shell, an inner liner forming a storage compartment, an insulating layer positioned in between the outer shell and the inner liner, wherein the insulating layer provides insulation for the storage compartment, and an opening configured to allow access to the storage compartment.
A SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR PACKAGING PRODUCT INTO SEPARATE BAGS
A system for packaging a product into separate bags, including a station for providing a partly closed bag and adding a quantity of the product into the partly closed bag, a closing station for closing the partly closed bag with the quantity of the product therein, a separating station for separating the closed bag from the sheet-shaped material, and an analyzing station for analyzing the closed bag, where the analyzing station is positioned between the closing station and the separating station and where the closed bag hangs from another bag when analyzed.
Heat seal bar assembly
A stitchless highly oriented polypropylene fabric bulk bag of the type that can hold 500 to 5000 pounds (226.7 to 2268 kilograms) of bulk material includes a highly oriented polypropylene fabric top, body and bottom, with a heat fused joint providing an air tight connection between the top and body, and another air tight heat fused joint connecting the body and bottom. A fill spout and discharge tube may also be provided with an air tight heat fused joint connecting the fill spout to the top and another air tight heat fused joint connecting the discharge spout to the bottom. Heat sealing machinery include heat seal bar assemblies that can self-align during heat-sealing to apply even pressure to all areas being heat sealed. A heating element is of single piece construction and can include end coupler portions as part of the single piece construction. Carrier plates used in a heat-sealing assembly line guide parts placement, provide quality checks for parts placement, and tooling set-up for machinery.
PRODUCTION OF COLLAPSIBLE POUCHES HAVING A FITMENT
A production machine for the production of collapsible pouches having a fitment. The machine has a fitment sealing station with an impulse sealing device comprising a first jaw and a second jaw and with an actuator device configured to move the first and second jaws relative to one another between an opened position and a clamped position, as well as a cooling device configured to cool each of the first and second jaws. The fitment sealing station is configured to perform an impulse sealing cycle.
Binding machine and method for securing a part of a binding element in a loop around one or more objects
A binding machine comprising: —a feeding device for feeding a binding element (3) in the form of a wire or strap in a loop around one or more objects to be bound and subsequently retracting the binding element to draw it tightly around said objects; and—a laser welding device for forming a welded joint between a section at the leading end of the binding element and an adjoining section at the trailing end of the part (3a) of the binding element fed in a loop around said objects to thereby secure this part of the binding element in a loop around the objects. The laser welding device is configured to cut off the binding element at said trailing end to thereby release said part (3a) of the binding element from the remaining part (3b) of the binding element.
