A product includes a first component, a second component and an adhesive. The adhesive fills an interior space that is surrounded by the first component and the second component. The second component comprising an inlet that communicates between an exterior space of the second component and the interior space so as to enable the adhesive to be injected into the interior space. The inlet comprising a tapered portion that narrows from the exterior space towards the interior space.
BONDING APPARATUS AND BONDING METHOD
The bonding apparatus of the present invention is an apparatus that bonds a patch containing a reinforcing fiber to a bonded section of a corner section CR of an object member. The bonding apparatus has s heater mat, a pushing member, a bag member having a decompression port, a mold releasing film, a breather, a heater mat and a sealant. A pushing member has a first cowl plate, a second cowl plate and an elastic pressuring body. A pressuring section of the pushing member has the surface shape corresponding to a corner section design value after the patch is bonded. By protruding from a gap between a first cowl plate and a second cowl plate to a direction of the corner section CR, the patch is pushed to the bonded section and the generation of a wrinkle in the reinforcing fiber can be prevented.

Methods and apparatus for positioning a structure on a polymer layer are described. A method may involve forming a first polymer layer. The method may further involve positioning, by an apparatus, a structure on the first polymer layer, where the apparatus comprises a rod having a first end that supports the structure as the structure is being positioned and a plunger located around the first end of the rod that presses the structure onto the first polymer layer as the structure is being positioned. And the method may involve forming a second polymer layer over the first polymer layer and the structure, where the first polymer layer defines a first side of a body-mountable device and the second polymer layer defines a second side of the body-mountable device opposite the first side.

A compressible decoy construction involves a thin rubber roto molded outer shell lined with a thicker layer of foam rubber. The interior of the decoy is hollow, thus allowing the decoy to be folded or compressed into a small mass such that when the compressive force is removed, the decoy returns to its full shape due to the memory of the foam rubber lining.

The present invention concerns a new use for shrinkable plastic film, particularly shrink sleeve label film, which can be directly anchored to a frame (which may or may not already have a canvas) to form a novel shrink film canvas. The inner and/or outer surface of said film can be printed and/or painted on, preferably heat shrunk to conform to the edges of said frame, and can be further treated by methods and means known to the art, to serve as a painting on a shrink film canvas. If only the inner part of the canvas is printed or painted on, the outer surface of the shrink film can serve as a protective layer, while also providing a glossy sheen normally achieved through the application of a varnish medium. The painted or unpainted plastic film, can further be treated as necessary to further alter and/or enhance the appearance of the image it carries, and need not be limited to canvas art work, and instead be used as a singular product, such as, for example, gift wrapping material, or in combination with other products, such as in a kit.

Method of bonding a shear web (50) to a wind turbine blade shell (75) and the obtained blade, wherein the shear web (50) comprises a web and a mounting flange (56) oriented transverse to the web (50). The method involves: providing a seal (66, 68) on the mounting flange (56) of the shear web (50) such that when the mounting flange (56) is positioned against the blade shell (75), a cavity (76) is defined by the seal between the mounting flange (56) and the blade shell (75). The air of the cavity (76) is then evacuated and adhesive is injected into the cavity (76). The use of pieces (80) to keep the distance between the mounting flange (56) and the blade shell (75) is preferred.

The present invention is a method for manufacturing inflatable bladders for use in articles of manufacture. The method includes the steps of providing a first polymer film, applying a curable release coating to the polymer film in a pattern that corresponds to the configuration of the inflatable bladder, curing the release coating to the first polymer film, providing a second polymer film with the first polymer film to form a layered element such that the release coating is disposed between the polymer films, positioning the layered element between two plies of material, applying heat and pressure to adhere the polymer films together except in the area where the release coating has been applied to form an inflatable compartment surrounded by a sealed perimeter, and removing the plies of material from the adhered first and second polymer films.

The supply of adhesive material is controlled according to an adhesive material quantity requirement based on the strand length, the requirement changing in the longitudinal direction of the support surface, as a result of depressions and/or steps for example, and/or according to an arrangement of the strand surface to be adhered on the strand, the arrangement changing in the longitudinal direction of the support surface.

A process for manufacturing a hollow body including a thermoplastic wall and a fibrous reinforcement welded on at least one portion of the surface of the wall, or its outer surface, the fibrous reinforcement including a thermoplastic similar to or compatible with that of the wall of the hollow body, having a thickness of at least 1 mm and from 30 to 60% in weight of fibers, the method including heating a portion of the outer surface of the hollow body where the reinforcement will be welded; heating the fibrous reinforcement to soften or melt the thermoplastic of the reinforcement; and moving the reinforcement and applying the reinforcement to the portion of the outer surface of the hollow body. The applying the reinforcement includes: applying an initial pressure on at least one portion of the reinforcement; and applying pressure for a final welding using robotized pressure applying mechanism.

A system and method for creating protective sports articles. The system includes a last. A liner of flexible material that defines a pocket is provided. A plurality of padding pieces are provided that each have a bottom surface and an adhesive disposed over the bottom surface. The method includes inserting the last into the pocket of the liner. The method also includes positioning the bottom surface of each of the padding pieces over the liner to engage the adhesive against the liner. The method further includes applying pressure to the padding pieces to bond the adhesive of the padding pieces to the liner to secure the padding pieces to the liner and to form a completed article. The method further includes removing the completed article from the last.
