Sandwich component and method for producing a sandwich component
A sandwich component has a first cover layer, a second cover layer, and a core disposed therebetween. In the sandwich component, the cover layers are each formed from an outer layer made of a fiber-reinforced thermoplast material having greater resistance to a certain solvent and, fused therewith, an inner layer made of a thermoplast material having lower resistance to the solvent. The core has outer layers, each of which is formed from a thermoplast material having lower resistance to the solvent, and an inner structure, which is formed entirely or partially from a thermoplast material having greater resistance to the solvent. The inner layers of the cover layers were each fused with one of the outer layers of the core with the use of the solvent.
Cell culture device and method of manufacturing the same
A cell culture device comprises a cell culture membrane and a substrate fixed to the cell culture membrane. The cell culture membrane is made from a thermosetting resin and has a plurality of pores that are open to at least one surface including a surface on a side that is in contact with the substrate. The substrate is made from a thermoplastic resin. In a contact region between the cell culture membrane and the substrate, part of the substrate is extended to form bulges in the pores of the cell culture membrane that are open in the contact region. This configuration suppresses reduction of the strength of the cell culture membrane and reduction of the flatness of the cell culture membrane (membrane accuracy) in the cell culture device in which the cell culture membrane and the substrate are fixed to each other.
Method for arranging a functional layer on a plastic component, and a composite made thereof
A method for arranging a functional layer on a plastic component of a lighting device and a composite made of the plastic component and the functional layer, in particular a frame, an outer rim, a support frame, an inner lens, a retaining element, or the like is provided. The method includes that a film-like laminar composite is provided that has the functional layer and a substrate. The laminar composite is placed in a holding fixture. A vacuum is turned on in the holding fixture and suctioning of the laminar composite by means of a suction area of the holding fixture is performed. The plastic component is arranged on the laminar composite, and at least areas of the laminar composite are welded or bonded to the plastic component by means of a welding method or by means of an adhesive method.
METHOD FOR CONNECTING COMPONENTS OF A MICROFLUIDIC FLOW CELL
A flow cell and a method for connecting components of a microfluidic flow cell, in particular for integrating component parts into a carrier structure of the flow cell, in which a gap is formed between the components to be connected. The gap is filled with a solvent. The material of at least one component bordering the gap dissolves in the solvent and the material completely fills the width of the gap and partially fills the height thereof after evaporation of the solvent.
BAG-SHAPED STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BAG-SHAPED STRUCTURE
Providing a bag-shaped structure and a method for manufacturing a bag-shaped structure, which can provide high blood pressure measurement accuracy even when the cuff width is reduced. A bag-shaped structure used in a cuff for a blood pressure monitor configured to be wrapped around a living body, inflate when a fluid is supplied to an internal space, and compress the living body includes: an inner wall portion provided on a living body side; an outer wall portion facing the inner wall portion; and a pair of side wall portions bent toward the internal space and continuous with the inner wall portion and the outer wall portion, at least part of which is formed integrally with the inner wall portion.
System and method for in-line controlling the ultrasonic welding of plastic components of an electronic cigarette
A system for in-line controlling of the ultrasonic welding of plastic components of an electronic cigarette, in which plastic components are welded to one another at a welding zone to define a welded group; the plastic components are such that the welded group has an air passage duct having a first open end and a second open end. The system includes: a chamber for receiving the welded group; a closure for closing the first open end; air supply for supplying air into the chamber. The system further includes an air exit, connecting the welding zone with the outside of the chamber; a continuous pressure control and adjustment for continuously controlling and regulating the air pressure that enters the air passage duct to keep a fixed air pressure; an air passage nozzle having a predetermined cross section, position between the continuous pressure control and adjustment and the second open end; and a pressure sensor for detecting the air back pressure generated in the chamber after the introduction of air into the air passage duct.
Ball structure and method for making the same
The present invention relates to a ball structure and method for making the same. The ball structure includes an inner bladder and a plurality of covers. The covers surround the inner bladder. Each of the covers includes a base fabric layer, a middle layer and a surface layer. The middle layer is formed from a first polyurethane (PU) solution. A PU solid content of the first PU solution is greater than 70 wt %. The middle layer is a foamed layer, and a porosity thereof is 25% to 85%. The surface layer is formed from a second polyurethane (PU) solution. A PU solid content of the second PU solution is 5 wt % to 20 wt %.
Method of fastening an object to a construction element
A method of fastening an edge structure to a construction element includes providing the construction element, being a planar structure with two cover regions and a middle region between the cover regions; providing the edge structure being continuously extended, the edge structure having contact surfaces with a thermoplastic material shaped to lie against the cover regions in an outer surface of the construction element, and, opposite the contact surfaces, a coupling-in surface for coupling energy into the edge structure; coupling energy into the edge structure and pressing the contact surfaces against the cover regions until at least a portion of the thermoplastic material is liquefied and pressed into the cover regions; and repeating or continuing the steps of coupling and pressing until the edge structure is attached to the building element at a plurality of discrete locations or over an extended region along an edge of the construction element.
Fluid flow conduits and apparatus and methods for making and joining fluid conduits
Fluid flow conduits and apparatus and methods for joining the conduits, preferably in a sterile manner, are disclosed. Each conduit has a polymeric open end that is sealed by a sealing member that may include a heating element. The polymeric end material is melted, the sealing members are moved to expose the melted open ends of the conduits and the ends are brought together to form a fused or welded connection between the conduits.
