LAMINATE OF ARAMID PAPER SHEET AND POLYIMIDE FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

Provided is a method for producing a laminate, comprising laminating an aramid paper sheet and a polyimide film together by performing heating and pressurizing process under conditions of a temperature of 275 to 320 C. and a pressure of 50 to 400 kgf/cm. In the present invention, an aramid paper sheet-polyimide film laminate with excellent heat resistance, electrical properties, chemical resistance, mechanical properties, and the like can be manufactured by laminating the aramid paper sheet and the polyimide film in a simple method without impairing their properties.

Plasticity induced bonding

Methods and apparatuses for bonding polymeric parts are disclosed. Specifically, in one embodiment, the polymeric parts are bonded by plastically deforming them against each other while they are below the glass transition temperatures. A method includes: placing a first polymeric part in contact with a second polymeric part; and plastically deforming the first polymeric part and the second polymeric part against each other to bond the first polymeric part to the second polymeric part. Additionally, during the plastic deformation, a temperature of the first polymeric part is less than a glass transition temperature of the first polymeric part and a temperature of the second polymeric part is less than a glass transition temperature of the second polymeric part.

METHOD OF FABRICATING A MINIATURE DEVICE HAVING AN ACOUSTIC DIAPHRAGM

A method of forming a device having a compliant member includes applying heat to a thermoplastic elastomer to maintain the thermoplastic elastomer in a softened state. The thermoplastic elastomer is extruded in the softened state as a film of thermoplastic elastomer. One or more of a bobbin and a housing, each having and end, is positioned such that the end extends at least partially into the film of thermoplastic elastomer. The positioning occurs when the thermoplastic elastomer is in the softened state and/or the bobbin and/or housing is at a temperature that is greater than a temperature of the film of thermoplastic elastomer. The film is cooled so that the bobbin and/or housing are secured to the film and so that the thermoplastic elastomer is in a state that exhibits rubber-like properties.

METHOD FOR JOINING A DEVICE TO AN OBJECT WITH THE AID OF ULTRASONIC VIBRATION ENERGY AND DEVICE AND INSTALLATION SUITABLE FOR THE METHOD

A method for joining a device to an object with the aid of a combination of ultrasonic vibration energy and induction heating, wherein the device includes a portion of a thermoplastic polymer and a susceptor additive wherein this portion is at least partly liquefied or plasticized through the ultrasonic vibration energy in combination with the induction heating and wherein the joining includes establishing a connection between the device and the object which connection is at least one of a positive fit connection, a weld, a press fit connection, and an adhesive connection. The induction heating is applied for rendering the device portion suitable for absorption of ultrasonic vibration energy than other device portions by raising its temperature above the glass transition temperature of the polymer. The ultrasonic vibration energy is used for liquefying or at least plasticizing the thermoplastic polymer of the named device portion.

APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE FOR FORM, FILL AND SEALING DIES AND PACKAGES FORMED THEREBY

Provided herein are apparatus and methods for film sealing dies, and in particular, to apparatus and methods for film sealing dies in form, fill and seal (FFS) processes. An apparatus for sealing plastic film materials includes a heating mechanism, the heating mechanism including a heating lip (110) arranged such that when a plastic film (120) is contacted with the heating lip (110), the heating lip (110) forms a hot seal on the plastic film (120); and a cooling mechanism, the cooling mechanism comprising a gas jet duct oriented to contact the hot seal on the plastic film (120) at a contact angle between 0 and 60 such that the hot seal formed on the plastic film (120) is cooled to a temperature of less than or equal to 40 C. in less than or equal to 5 seconds to form a sealed plastic film.

METHODS FOR INCREASING A RETENTION FORCE BETWEEN A POLYMERIC SCAFFOLD AND A DELIVERY BALLOON

A medical device-includes a scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. The scaffold is crimped to the balloon by a process that includes inflating the delivery balloon during a diameter reduction to improve scaffold retention and maintaining an inflated balloon during the diameter reduction and prior and subsequent dwell periods.
