CYLINDRICAL SHRINK LABEL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A cylindrical shrink label is provided with a heat-shrinkable label base material; and a joint formed by cylindrically forming the label base material so that the edges thereof overlap, and then solvent welding the inner surface of the outside edge, which is positioned on the outside of the cylinder, and the outer surface of the inside edge, which is positioned on the inside of the cylinder. A resin layer, which is soluble in a hot alkaline aqueous solution, is formed on the abovementioned inner surface and/or the abovementioned outer surface, which form the joint.
ADHESIVE DISPENSER AND A SHEATH-CONNECTION DEVICE INCLUDING SUCH A DISPENSER
The invention relates to an adhesive dispenser comprising: a platform; an unwinder reel pivotally mounted on the platform and designed to carry a roll of adhesive; a separator member (9) for separating adhesive from the roll of adhesive, the separator member being arranged on the platform; the adhesive dispenser comprising at least one embossing roller (18) arranged on the platform between the unwinder reel and the separator member so that, in operation, it embosses the adhesive tape (3) being unwound from the roll of adhesive before it reaches the separator member.
The invention also relates to a device for connecting together two flattened tubular sheaths including such an adhesive dispenser.
Ovenable heat-sealed package
A package comprises a heat seal between a first film and a second film. The first film comprises at least 70% of one or more polyamides. The first film also comprises at least one modified layer comprising (1) at least 70% of one or more polyamides and (2) one or more modifiers selected from ethylene/alkyl(meth)acrylate copolymers, ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymers, and ionomers. The second film comprises at least 70%) of one or more polyamides. The package is useful under ovenable conditions.

A resin layer, which is soluble in a hot alkaline aqueous solution, is formed on the abovementioned inner surface and/or the abovementioned outer surface, which form the joint.
ASSEMBLY AND AN ASSEMBLING METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a method for assembling members, at least one of which is provided with a polymer member, comprising steps of: deforming at least one portion of the polymer member; putting the deformed portion of the polymer member into a second member; heating the deformed portion for engaging the portion with the second member. Through the steps described above, the portion of the polymer member may be in interference-fit engagement with the second member, based on which, adhesive is no longer necessary for improving reliabilities of engagement therebetween.
ROOF AND WALL COVER SYSTEM
A method of providing covers over at least a portion of a roof of a storm damaged built structure that includes the steps of: applying a sheet of heat shrinkable film over the portion of the roof, the sheet having a leading edge and a trailing edge and being a film of low density polyethylene including shrinking resins; wrapping portions of the leading edge around a first batten and attaching the first batten to the underside of a first eave or to the facia of the built structure; wrapping portions of the trailing edge around a second batten and attaching the second batten to the underside of a second eave or to the facia of the built structure at a location different than the first batten; and heating the sheet of heat shrinkable film to bring the film into conformity with the portion of the roof, wherein the heating step shrinks the sheet of film tight against the built structure to cover over the portion of the roof.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPAIRING INSULATION FOR WIRING
An apparatus including a first hollow tube having an inner chamber and an outer peripheral surface, a cable having outer insulation and an inner conductor wire, and a hand held device for blowing hot air. The first hollow tube may have an inner diameter which is greater than an outer diameter of the cable so that the first hollow tube can be slid over the cable, so that a portion of the cable resides in the inner chamber of the first hollow tube in a first state. The cable may have a length which is substantially greater than a length of the first hollow tube. The hand held device for blowing hot air may be configured to blow hot air on the outer peripheral surface of the first tube, in the first state, to cause the first tube to shrink and become attached to the cable to repair a defect in the cable.
Three-dimensional texturing of two-dimensional materials
A method of creating crumples in a monolayer entails contacting a monolayer comprising a two-dimensional material with a thermally contractible polymer, and heating the thermally contractible polymer to contract the polymer and induce buckling of the monolayer, where a plurality of crumples are formed in the monolayer due to the buckling. A device having a crumpled microstructure includes a monolayer comprising a two-dimensional material and including a plurality of crumples.
COUPLING SYSTEM
A coupling assembly includes first and second components with mating protrusions including shape memory polymer protrusions with different shape configurations. The components are assembled by engaging the protrusions with a temporary shape configuration at a first level of retention force. The protrusions are heated above the transition temperature to recover a permanent shape configuration, and cooled to provide a second level of retention force at the permanent shape configuration.
APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR ELECTRO-FUSION OF POLYETHYLENE PIPELINE
A method for forming a connection between two tubular sections having a polymeric outer surface jacket, using electrofusion to fusion bond a casing of similar, non-crosslinked polymer to the outer surface of the tubular sections.
