Method for retreading a tire using a dual heating effect
The method includes the step of passing an electric current through at least one wire that is situated between a carcass of a tire casing and a tread. The method also includes the step of calculating a value of a temperature of the wire as a function of a relative value of the current. The method proceeds with the step of controlling the current as a function of the temperature value calculated.
PARTIALLY POLYMERISED THERMOHARDENABLE CONNECTION PART AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING AND ASSEMBLING SUCH A CONNECTION PART
A partially polymerised thermohardenable connection part and to methods for producing and assembling such a connection part. The connection part for connecting two mechanical parts is thermohardenable and is partially polymerised in such a way as to be rigid at room temperature and able to be subjected to a subsequent polymerisation, the connection part being thus both sufficiently rigid to be able to be manipulated and brought into contact with at least one of the two mechanical parts which it is to interconnect and able to be subjected to a subsequent additional polymerisation in order to achieve its final polymerised state, the material of the connection part being rendered sufficiently soft during the additional polymerisation that it can adapt to the form of at least one of the mechanical parts to which the connection part must be connected.
Enhanced composite live hinge
A hinged component fabrication method in which, in a layup stage of fabrication, the component includes a live hinge joining uncured material portions together at a hinge region and comprising a layer of tensile fabric at least partially infiltrated by an uncured elastomer layer at least partially interposed between the tensile fabric and the uncured material portions such that the uncured elastomer blocks the uncured material portions from infiltrating the hinge region. The method may include locating overlapped tensile fabric and elastomer layers in a tool and introducing polymer-based material into the tool such that polymer-based material portions overlap respective opposite ends of the fabric and elastomer layers. The polymer-based material portions are formed to a desired shape using the forming tool so that the fabric and elastomer layers form a live hinge between the polymer-based material portions.
Method for manufacturing a part made of a composite material comprising at least one portion forming a force-insertion portion or local thickened portion
A method for manufacturing of a part made of composite material including pre-compacting to a predetermined shape of a mixture of a first thermosetting resin with discontinuous long fibers so as to form a first preform, pre-curing the first preform until an intermediate conversion stage corresponding to a solidification of said first resin, contacting the first preform with a second preform including a fiber structure of continuous fibers impregnated with a second thermosetting resin, polymerizing the first and second preforms so as to form a part made of composite material including a body made of composite material including reinforcement made of continuous fibers consolidated by an organic matrix provided with a portion made of composite material including reinforcement made of discontinuous long fibers consolidated by an organic matrix.
METHOD FOR BONDING COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL
A method for bonding a composite material includes impregnating a first composite material containing reinforcing fibers and a second composite material containing reinforcing fibers with a resin and bonding them together. A plurality of protruding members each including a plurality of protrusions protruding in mutually different directions are placed on a surface of the first composite material, and the second composite material is placed where the protruding members are placed. The protruding members are introduced into the interior of the first composite material and the interior of the second composite material while causing the first composite material and the second composite material to come into contact with each other. The first and second composite material are bonded in a state where the protruding members are introduced therein, by curing the resin with which the first and second composite material are impregnated.
METAL-CARBON FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC COMPOSITE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL-CARBON FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC COMPOSITE
A metal-carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite comprising a metal member of a ferrous material or ferrous alloy, a resin layer provided on at least one surface of the metal member and including a thermosetting resin, and carbon fiber reinforced plastic provided on a surface of the resin layer and including a carbon fiber material and a matrix resin having thermoplasticity, an indentation elastic modulus at 160 to 180° C. of the resin layer being higher than an indentation elastic modulus at 160 to 180° C. of the matrix resin.
ALTERNATIVE JOINING METHOD
The disclosure relates to an alternative joining method and to the use of the shaped part produced by means of the alternative joining method in drive technology and connection technology.
Method for forming a composite part of a gas turbine engine
A method for forming a composite part of a gas turbine engine. The method includes assembling the composite part of a first composite material and a second composite material. The second composite material defines an outer surface of the composite part, and is selected to be curable at a cure temperature generated by heat from operation of the engine. The first composite material is selected to have an operating temperature limit less than the cure temperature. The method includes placing the composite part within the engine so that, in use, the second composite material is cured by exposure to the heat generated from operation of the engine. The second composite material thermally shields the first composite material from the heat generated from operation of the engine. The method includes operating the engine to cure the second composite material.
Joining components
A method for joining a first component and a second component. The method includes forming a first bond between the first component and the second component by providing a plurality of projections on the first component and embedding the plurality of projections in the second component; creating a fastener hole which passes through the first component and the second component and which encompasses at least one of the projections; and forming a second bond between the first component and the second component by installing a fastener in the fastener hole.
Thermoplastic/thermoset grafted composites
Disclosed are thermoset/thermoplastic composites that include a thermoset component directly or indirectly bonded to a thermoplastic component via a crosslinked binding layer between the two. The crosslinked binding layer is bonded to the thermoplastic component via epoxy linkages and is either directly or indirectly bonded to the thermoset component via epoxy linkages. The composite can be a laminate and can provide a route for addition of a thermoplastic implant to a thermoset structure.
