DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BAG RECEIVED IN AN ENVELOPE
The present invention relates to a device and a method for manufacturing a bag received in an envelope and containing a brewable material with a bag manufacturing means which is configured to manufacture a bag containing brewable material, and with a sealing station with a sealing jaw element and a counter-jaw element which act on the envelope from opposite sides to seal in the bag. The device is further developed for a reliable and safe manufacture of the packing unit consisting of a bag and an envelope by the sealing jaw element being fixed to a sealing jaw swivel arm at which a sealing jaw connecting rod is applied, and the counter-jaw element being fixed to a counter-jaw swivel arm at which a counter-jaw connecting rod is applied, and by the sealing jaw connecting rod and the counter-jaw connecting rod being each eccentrically connected to a common drive shaft of a servomotor. In the method according to the invention, the contact force between the sealing jaw element and the counter-jaw element is controlled via the torque of the servomotor actuating the sealing jaw element and/or the counter-jaw element.
METHOD OF GOLF BALL MANUFACTURE EMPLOYING ULTRASONIC WELDING, AND RESULTING GOLF BALL AND GOLF BALL COMPONENTS AND/OR LAYERS
A method of producing a golf ball applies ultrasonic welding on two half shells to form at least one intermediate layer, at least one cover layer, or at least one intermediate layer and at least one cover layer. The ultrasonic welding may include pressing the two half shells together, delivering a high power electrical signal to a welding stack, and converting the high power electrical signal at the welding stack to ultrasonic energy. The converting may include converting the high power electrical signal into a mechanical vibration, modifying an amplitude of the mechanical vibration to generate a modified mechanical vibration, and applying the modified mechanical vibration to an interface of the two half shells to weld them together ultrasonically. Aspects also relate to golf balls, or one or more layers thereof, made using ultrasonic welding.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AIR BAG, AIR BAG, AND VEHICLE SEAT APPARATUS
A method for manufacturing an air bag includes forming a bag portion surrounded by a welded portion extending in an annular shape by pressing at least one welding mold against two sheet materials arranged to be stacked from a stacking direction of the sheet materials. The welding mold is pressed against the sheet materials to form the welded portion including a welding bead portion protruding to an inside of the bag portion between the sheet materials. A pressing surface of the welding mold against the sheet materials is provided with a slope portion facing in the stacking direction of the sheet materials and in a direction of the inside of the bag portion at a position further on an outside of the bag portion than a position at which the welding bead portion is formed.

Method of joining structures made of incompatible polymers
A first structure made of a first polymer is joined to a second structure made of an incompatible second polymer by the steps of welding small bands of compatible tubing or material to the first structure to create raised structures or ribs, and mechanically linking the second structure with the ribs or raised structures at the desired attachment point. The mechanical linkage may be accomplished by using heat shrinking or mechanical compression (such as crimping) to force the incompatible second polymer around the ribs or raised structures or, in the case of raised structures formed as threads or nubs, by inter-engagement between the threads or nubs on the first structure and corresponding structures, such as internal threading, nub-receiving slots, or internal surfaces, of the second structure. The option of using the welded raised structures as threads or nubs for a threaded, bayonet, pin-and-slot, snap-fit, or similar connection enables the second structure to be removed from the first structure and replaced whenever the second structure becomes worn during use. The first structure may be an surgical laser fiber with an ETFE buffer layer, and the second structure is a protective structure may be made of PTFE, PET, FEP or PFA.
