A first thermoplastic component and a second thermoplastic component including a first joint portion and a second joint portion, respectively, are provided. A least a portion of a surface area of each of the first and second joint portions include a respective first and second mating surface. The first and second mating surfaces of the respective first and second joint portions are positioned in contact with one another. The first and second joint portions are fusion joined. Fusion joining the first and second joint portions forms a fused unitary portion of the first and second thermoplastic components.

The welding mold is pressed against the sheet materials to form the welded portion including a welding bead portion protruding to an inside of the bag portion between the sheet materials. A pressing surface of the welding mold against the sheet materials is provided with a slope portion facing in the stacking direction of the sheet materials and in a direction of the inside of the bag portion at a position further on an outside of the bag portion than a position at which the welding bead portion is formed.

An internal support member is inserted into a collapsible housing, such that it is arranged along a longitudinal axis of an inner surface of the collapsible housing. A strip is positioned along the outer surface using the outer support member and the internal support member. Then the strip is permanently welded to the outer surface using a welding element. Welding is performed by a welding element located in one (or both) of the internal support member or the outer support member.

The tape attachment device attaches a predetermined-width portion of a sealing tape to one end of one surface of a web-like packaging material in such a manner that a first edge of both edges of the sealing tape, which is to be located on an overlapping portion side of a tubular packaging material when viewed from an inner step of an overlapping portion, will be disposed at a position displaced from an outer step of the overlapping portion when viewed in the thickness direction of the tubular packaging material.

Embodiments herein are generally directed to a flexible pouch for holding a liquid. The pouch includes a front portion and a back portion defining a compartment, a fitment and a frangible seal. The fitment has a body with a pair of wings extending outwardly from a center portion. The center portion has a spout. The front portion, the fitment and the back portion are joined together by a top seal. The frangible seal join the front portion and back portion beneath the fitment. The frangible seal has one end positioned in a portion of the top seal under one of the pair of wings and another end positioned in a portion of the top seal under another of the pair of wings to separate the spout from the contents in the compartment.
