Hybrid multi-ply tissue paper product and method for manufacturing the same
A hybrid multi-ply tissue paper product comprising at least three plies made of tissue paper base-sheet is described. At least one ply is a structured ply produced by a structuring manufacturing method. The structured ply includes a structured back face. At least another ply is a wet pressed ply produced by a wet press manufacturing method. The structured ply is positioned and orientated with respect to the at least two other plies such that the structured back face of the structured ply is facing the at least two other plies so as to dampen a two-sidedness effect related to the structured back face.
Device for embossing packaging material with a set of embossing rollers of the male-female die type
The embossing device for embossing packaging material comprises a set of embossing rollers with male die and female die rollers co-operating with one another, the surface of which is provided with texture elements, wherein the texture elements (M6R6) on the surface of the female die roller (M6), which are assigned to the texture elements (P6E6) on the surface of the male die roller (P6) are not inversely congruent by an amount of above 15 m in axial and radial direction and the texture elements of the male die and female roller associated with one another comprise facets (F) for the purpose of local pressure elevation. A facet (F) comprises faces (FN), which with respect to the imaginary, continuous surface of the texture is inclined. With such facetted rollers, a very large variety of films can be embossed in an aesthetically appealing manner, wherein the films can be mainly employed in the tobacco and foodstuff industry.
Method for deforming a web
Methods for forming discrete deformations in web materials are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method involves feeding a web into an apparatus having nips that are formed between intermeshing rolls. The apparatus may be in the form of nested or other arrangements of multiple rolls, in which the web is maintained in substantial contact with at least one of the rolls throughout the process, and at least two of the rolls define two or more nips thereon with other rolls. In some embodiments, rolls can be used to expose a different side of the web for a subsequent deformation step. In these or other embodiments, the rolls can be used to transfer the web between rolls in such a manner that it may offset the rolls and/or web so that subsequent deformations are formed at a different cross-machine direction location than prior deformations.
Embossed multi-ply tissue products
The present invention provides an embossed multi-ply tissue product that is visually pleasing and has improved physical attributes. For example, the inventive multi-ply tissue products have reduced stiffness, such as a GM Flexural Rigidity less than about 600 mg*cm, improved absorbency, such as a Residual Water (W.sub.Residual) value less than about 0.15 g, and improved wet resiliency, such as a wet elastic strain ratio greater than about 32 percent.
EMBOSSMENTS HAVING GENERALLY HOMOGENOUS LAYERS
Multi-layer packaging articles can include embossments formed on each layer. The packaging articles can be formed from multi layer webs. An embossing device can locally deform one of the web layers into another, overlying web layer to form the embossments. The webs can include features that permit the web material to be deformed with little, or no tearing of the web material.
DUAL TEXTURED TISSUE PRODUCT
Disclosed are embossed, multi-ply tissue products having differing texture on each of their first and second outer surfaces. The difference in texture may be measured using a Tissue Softness Analyzer and the second side may have a TS750 value that is about five times greater than the TS750 value of the first side. The differing texture may be imparted by different embossing patterns disposed on the first and second surfaces where the embossments forming the second pattern are oriented such that they protrude outwardly away from the second surface. Despite having differing textures, the products are generally soft, such as having an Average TS7 value less than about 12.0 and have good sheet bulk, such as a sheet bulk greater than about 10.0 cubic centimeters per gram (cc/g).
Corrugating rollers
Corrugating rollers include an outer surface, a first flute on the outer surface, the first flute having a first height, and a second flute on the outer surface, the second flute having a second height that is different than the first height.
Micro-Embossed Multi-Ply Tissue Product
Disclosed are embossed and structured multi-ply tissue products having improved softness, strength, embossment clarity and/or embossment height. The embossed and structured multi-ply tissue products include at least one embossed structured and/or textured tissue ply. The unique combination of the embossment elements provide for improved embossment element clarity and definition while using at least one thick and structured basesheet.
Embossed tissue
The disclosed tissue products have an embossing pattern that is aesthetically pleasing and provides improved product properties, such as good bulk, while reducing processing issues, such as wrinkling. The embossing patterns generally comprise a background and a foreground pattern where the background pattern is the dominate pattern and provides the product with a uniform appearance that connotes femininity, softness and cleansing. The background pattern is preferably formed entirely from open design elements such as first, second and third open, curvilinear line elements, wherein the second and third line elements are discrete, similarly shaped curvilinear line elements that are arranged parallel to one another and spaced apart about 1.0 mm or less.
