A roofing system includes a roof deck, a roofing underlayment overlying the roof deck, a foam adhesive on an uppermost surface of the roofing underlayment, and a roofing material on the foam adhesive. The roofing material may include roofing tile. The roofing underlayment includes a first fleece layer contacting a surface of the roof deck, a scrim layer overlying and contacting the first fleece layer, and a second fleece layer overlying and contacting the scrim layer. The second fleece layer includes polyethylene terephthalate and has an uppermost surface opposite to the scrim layer, where the uppermost surface has an embossed texture.

BASEMATS AND FIBROUS PANELS COMPRISING LARGE DIAMETER WOOL FIBERS

A low density basemat provided as a single layer having a thickness of greater than about 1.1 inches (2.80 cm) and comprising at least about 90 weight percent wool fibers, based on the weight of the basemat, wherein the wool fibers include wool fibers having a diameter of less than about 3 microns and wool fibers having a diameter of greater than about 6 microns, wherein from 5% to 40% of the wool fibers have a diameter of less than about 3 microns, wherein at least 30% of the wool fibers have a diameter of greater than about 6 microns, wherein less than 15 wt. % of the wool fibers have a diameter greater than about 12 m, and wherein the wool fibers have a mean diameter of at least about 5 microns, and a low density fibrous panel comprising the basemat and a porous scrim.

Fire protection article and related methods

A fire protection article is provided that includes a fire barrier comprising a plurality of non-combustible fibers, and a passive thermal insulator coupled to the fire barrier and comprising a plurality of non-meltable fibers. Optionally, the fire protection article displays a time to break in the 1100 C. Break Strength Test of at least 10 seconds or a minimum tensile strength at 150 C. of at least 5 kPa. Optionally, the fire barrier comprises substantially continuous fibers that are mutually entangled. The fire barrier and passive thermal insulator can be mutually secured using a suitable polymeric binder, such a thermoplastic fluoropolymer binder. The combination of a relatively thin fire barrier with a comparatively thicker passive thermal insulator can provide thermal runaway protection in lithium-ion battery applications, structural integrity and a high degree of thermal insulation in the event of fire exposure.
