Electrochromic films with edge protection
The present application discloses a method for preparing an electrochromic device. The method includes placing an edge protection material on a first and second substrates, placing a first and second interlayers respectively within the edge protection material on the first and second substrates, wherein the edge protection material surrounds edges of the first and second interlayers, and interposing an electrochromic film between the first and second interlayers. The edge protection material prevents chemicals in the first and second interlayers from entering into the electrochromic film.

A film for laminated glass, the film including a surface embossing pattern formed on at least a portion of one side of the film, wherein the surface embossing pattern comprises convexities, and concavities separating the convexities from one another, each of the convexities is surrounded by some of the concavities, and an average area of the convexities is 0.01 mm.sup.2 to 4.00 mm.sup.2.
AUTOMOBILE WINDOW GLASS
The present invention provides an automobile window glass on which a device that acquires electromagnetic waves is disposable. The automobile window glass includes an outer glass plate, an inner glass plate, an intermediate film disposed between the outer glass plate and the inner glass plate, and a blocking layer that is disposed on at least one of a surface on the vehicle interior side of the outer glass plate and a surface on the vehicle interior side of the inner glass plate. The intermediate film includes a functional layer having a transmission region that allows transmission so as not to affect reception of the electromagnetic waves, and an adhesion layer that is disposed on at least one surface of the functional layer and does not affect reception of the electromagnetic waves. The blocking layer has at least one opening at a position corresponding to the transmission region.
REFLECTIVE FILM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING LAMINATED GLASS, AND LAMINATED GLASS
A laminated glass, a method for producing a laminated glass, and a reflective film that has end parts where the generation of wrinkles is prevented in a case where the laminated glass is produced by sandwiching the reflective film between two glass plates and that has a reflection wavelength range with a small variation are provided. The reflective film has wavelength-selective reflectivity. A thermal shrinkage rate in a case where the reflective film is held at 140° C. for 30 minutes is greater than 0.5% and smaller than 2.0%. The reflective film has at least one cutout portion on a side edge of the reflective film.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CONFIGURATIONS FOR PRIVACY GLAZING STRUCTURES
A privacy glazing structure may include an electrically controllable optically active material that provides controlled transition between a privacy or scattering state and a visible or transmittance state. To make electrical connections with electrode layers that control the optically active material, the privacy glazing structure may include electrode engagement regions. In some examples, the electrode engagement regions are formed as notches in peripheral edges of opposed panes bounding the optically active material. The notches may or may not overlap to provide a through conduit in the region of overlap for wiring. In either case, the notches may allow the remainder of the structure to have a flush edge surface for ease of downstream processing.
LAMINATED GLAZING FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR LATERAL GLAZING FOR A VEHICLE DOOR
A laminated glazing for a motor vehicle, notably side glazing intended to be slidingly mounted in a door of the vehicle, includes at least one outer sheet of glass and one inner sheet of glass joined together by an interlayer which includes at least one sheet of polymer material, in which a visible zone and a non-visible zone of the glazing extend on either side of a limit of visibility and including, in the non-visible zone situated below the limit of visibility, at least one fixing part which includes at least one fixing hole intended to receive a link system with a driving device of the glazing and at least one insert including an orifice configured to be aligned with the fixing hole, wherein the insert includes at least one part which is interposed between the interlayer and one of the outer or inner one of the sheets of glass.
SWITCHABLE LAMINATE WITH TOUCH CONTROL
Automotive glazing, with electrically controlled light transmittance, has been available for a number of years. Growth has been steady as the public recognizes the added utility provided. While a number of means of implementation are in use, all require a set of electrodes spanning opposite faces of the switchable portion of the glazing. As automotive electronic content has proliferated and the glazed area of the vehicle has increased, it is becoming more and more of a problem finding a suitable location for the controls, for the switchable glazing as well as for other functions. By structuring the electrodes, touch sensitive regions can be formed on the laminate and utilized for control.
Vehicular vision system with video display
A vehicular vision system includes a plurality of cameras and an ECU. The cameras are in communication with one another via a vehicle network and image data captured by the cameras is provided to the ECU. Responsive to a type of driving maneuver of the vehicle, (i) the ECU generates a first control signal that enables automatic control of exposure, gain and white balance of one camera of the plurality of cameras and (ii) the ECU generates respective second control signals that disable automatic control of exposure, gain and white balance of at least one other camera of the plurality of cameras. Responsive to processing of captured image data, composite video images derived from image data captured by the plurality of cameras are synthesized, and composite images are displayed that provides bird's eye view video images derived from video image data captured by the cameras.
Laminating thin strengthened glass to curved molded plastic surface for decorative and display cover application
A process comprises cold-forming a flat glass substrate into a non-planar shape using a die. The cold-formed glass substrate is bonded to a non-planar rigid support structure at a plurality of non-planar points using the die. Bonding methods include injection molding the non-planar rigid support structure, and direct bonding. An article is also provided, comprising a cold-formed glass substrate having opposing major surfaces and a curved shape, the opposing major surfaces comprising a surface stress that differ from one another. The cold-formed glass substrate is attached to a rigid support structure having the curved shape.
