GLASS LAMINATE SOUND DIFFUSERS AND METHODS
Transparent or translucent sound diffusers include a first glass sheet of less than 0.8 mm thickness and a second glass sheet of less than 0.8 mm thickness with a transparent or translucent adhesive layer there between, the adhesive layer adhering the first and second sheets in a fixed configuration such that a first major surface of the first glass sheet has a smooth, repeatedly rising and falling shape. The diffusers are secured to a wall or ceiling or to a wall or ceiling mount or to a wall or ceiling panel.
LAMINATED GLAZING REFLECTING INFRARED
A laminated glazing includes an outer sheet of clear glass and an inner sheet of clear glass, which are joined to one another by an interlayer of plastic, includes the succession of the following elements, from the inside to the outside of the glazing: the inner sheet of clear glass, a stack of layers reflecting infrared radiation between 780 nm and 2500 nm, the interlayer including successively a) a first thin sheet including a layer of a polymer compound or of a varnish, the polymer compound or the varnish including a dye, the dye absorbing substantially all of the light within the visible region and being substantially transparent to the infrared, b) a second thin sheet of an untinted plastic, the outer sheet of clear glass.
AN INTERACTIVE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
An interactive system for a vehicle using a display unit integrated on the windshield. The system receives user inputs and control the display unit based on the user input is disclosed. The system includes a display unit, which is present on the windshield of the rear window glazing, side window glazing or roof glazing of a vehicle. The display unit is composed of one or more illumination devices sandwiched between a first substrate and a second substrate of the glass assembly. The display unit is configured to display patterns, emoticons with varying intensity of illumination, frequency and color. The system further includes a sensor unit with a plurality of sensors that monitors condition and status of the vehicle. The processing unit is configured to control the display unit based on user actions and data received from the data retrieving unit.
Device and method for producing a patterned functional coating for a glass layer
A device and a method for producing a patterned functional coating on a first curved glass layer, the device including a support for holding the first curved glass layer, at least one laser, and a guidance unit, provided for guiding the beam of the laser over the functional coating, such that parts of the functional coating are removed in order to pattern the functional coating.
Electrostatic discharge noise suppression by the early discharge of a stepped metal element
A laminated glazing includes a first and a second glass sheet that are bonded by a first interlayer adhesive layer, a peripheral zone of the laminated glazing being covered by a stepped metal element, a window press that is rigidly connected to the structure for mounting the laminated glazing making contact with the laminated glazing, so as to hold the laminated glazing secure to its mounting structure, an electrical conductor having a first end that is electrically linked to the stepped metal element and a second tapered end at a non-zero distance at most equal to 1 mm from the window press.
LAMINATE HAVING ORGANIC INK DECORATION AND HIGH IMPACT RESISTANCE
A decorated laminate including: an outer ply; an inner ply; a polymer interlayer between the inner ply and the outer ply; and organic ink printed decoration on one or both of internal surfaces of the laminate between the outer ply and the polymer interlayer or between the inner ply and polymer interlayer, wherein the decorated laminate has a stone impact resistance as defined herein. Also disclosed is a method of making and using the decorated laminate.
PROJECTION ASSEMBLY FOR A HEAD-UP DISPLAY (HUD) WITH P-POLARISED RADIATION
A projection assembly for a head-up display (HUD) includes a windshield, including an outer and inner pane joined to one another via a thermoplastic intermediate layer, and having an HUD region; and a projector directed at the HUD region. The radiation of the projector is predominantly p-polarised, and the windshield is provided with a reflective coating, which is suitable for reflecting p-polarised radiation. The reflective coating has exactly one electrically conductive layer and arranged one above and one below the electrically conductive layer are two dielectric layer sequences, each including n low-optical-refraction layers having an index of refraction less than 1.8 and (n+1) high-optical-refraction layers having an index of refraction greater than 1.8, arranged alternatingly in each case, wherein n is an integer greater than or equal to 1.
INTERMEDIATE FILM FOR LAMINATED GLASS AND LAMINATED GLASS
An interlayer film (10) for laminated glass comprises an optical function layer (15) and a first thermoplastic resin layer (11) provided on one surface (15A) side of the optical function layer (15). The optical function layer (15) comprises a matrix polymer, a polymer of a photoreactive monomer, and a photopolymerization initiator. The first thermoplastic resin layer (11) comprises an ultraviolet ray absorber and has a transmittance at a wavelength of 400 nm of 20% or less.
Laminated glass and interlayers comprising cellulose esters
An interlayer structure having a cellulose ester layer for use in bilayer laminates is described herein. The cellulose ester layer provides rigidity and support to multilayer interlayers comprising an array of different layers. Due to the diverse properties of the cellulose ester layers, the present interlayers can be useful in producing structural laminates having high stiffness and which possess good optical clarity for a variety of applications, including outdoor structural applications and HMI devices.
