The invention provides a PVB interlayer sheet having a surface topography on at least one surface which is characterized as having a relatively low profile and a controlled, collapsible surface roughness profile (upon exposure to heat) having a population of significantly more surface peaks than negative peaks (valleys) in certain embodiments and slightly more distant peak spacing than is generally found in embossed PVB interlayers. The PVB interlayer sheets of the invention thus provide very good initial contact and tack of PVB to a glass surface, while leaving very little residual air behind after a first nip in a traditional glass lamination process when compared to other surface designs. The PVB interlayer sheets of the invention also exhibit a wide deairing window which affords greater tolerance of temperature and process variations.

A laminated panes suitable for installation in a building, faade or architectural barrier, includes an electrical carrier adhered directly or indirectly to the first major face of a sheet of glazing material and in electrical communication, with an electrical element between the first sheet of glazing material and a second sheet of glazing material. This provides the advantages that the electrical carrier is less likely to be snagged or lost while allowing connection of electrical elements within laminated panes using means suitable for connection to electrical elements within insulated glazing cavities, such as spacer frame sections with integrated connections.

GLAZED ASSEMBLY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED MANUFACTURING METHOD

A glazed assembly includes a glazing unit for a motor vehicle, the glazing unit including a glass sheet that has first and second main faces, a light injection system for injecting light into the glass sheet, at least a portion of the generated light being injected into the glass sheet in order to propagate by reflection between the first and second main faces until reaching light extraction system. The glazed assembly further includes an opaque material that is in continuous direct contact with the first main face and is positioned between the light injection system and the light extraction system.

A window system having a variety of optical properties is described. To adjust a property (e.g., physical, optical, etc.) of a window, a piece of material can be placed at the location of the desired property, wherein the piece of material has the desired property. The desired property can be a tint, polarization, opaque to a particular portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, and such. Accordingly, a window can be fabricated having a range of properties across one or more regions of the window. The piece of material can have a thickness enabling the piece of material to be deformable. The piece of material can have an initial curved profile such that only a first part of the piece of material initially touches a surface of the windscreen. During application of the piece of material, the material deforms to match the surface profile of the window.

Provided is laminated glass having a coating film and an interlayer film with a wedge-shaped cross section, in which foaming is less likely to occur in the interlayer film. The laminated glass of the present disclosure includes: a curved first glass plate; a curved second glass plate; and an interlayer film arranged between the first glass plate and the second glass plate to bond the first glass plate and the second glass plate together, wherein: the first glass plate has a fourth surface and a third surface; the second glass plate has a first surface and a second surface; the fourth surface is a surface of the first glass plate facing away from the interlayer film; the third surface is a surface of the first glass plate facing the interlayer film; the second surface is a surface of the second glass plate facing the interlayer film; the first surface is a surface of the second glass plate facing away from the interlayer film; the laminated glass includes a coating film on the second surface, the third surface or the fourth surface; the coating film is configured to show a visible light transmittance of 10% or higher relative to p-polarized light incident at an incident angle of 65 deg; and the interlayer film includes a wedge-shaped cross-section region that gradually increases in thickness from a bottom edge to a top edge in a state where the laminated glass is installed in a vehicle, and is configured to satisfy the formula ()>0.05 [mrad] where, assuming, in plan view, a straight line passing through a first point that bisects the top edge and a second point that bisects the bottom edge, represents a local wedge angle at a position 100 mm away from the second point on the straight line; and represents a local wedge angle at a position 500 mm away from the second point on the straight line.

Multi-layered windowpane and method for producing such windowpane

The invention relates to a multi-layered windowpane including a first transparent outer layer, a second transparent outer layer, and a third, smaller, transparent inner layer that is located in between the outer layers, an adhesive transparent foil layer located between the first outer layer and the third inner layer and a sealing surrounding the third inner layer. The invention also provides a thin layered windowpane core to be incorporated in such a multi-layered windowpane as well as a method for producing such a multi-layered windowpane.

Device and method for shaping a glass sheet

A bending station for a bending device, includes two bending molds, a pressing frame arranged to adapt to the glass sheet and to press it against an upper mold, the upper mold including a molding face, the area of which, defined by projecting the contour of the upper mold onto a horizontal plane, is greater than the area defined by projecting the outer contour of the pressing frame and the glass sheet onto the same horizontal plane, the pressing frame including a pressing ring having a continuous surface, the upper mold including a flexible sheet associated with an upper series of translational elements, wherein the upper mold is able to deform under the effect of the translational elements of the upper series in order to obtain a deflection value varying by at least 5 mm.
