A nozzle plate includes a nozzle base member including a plurality of nozzle holes formed therethrough, the plurality of nozzle holes serving as nozzles that discharge droplets; and a liquid-repellent film of a liquid-repellent material formed on a droplet discharge surface of the nozzle base member, the liquid-repellent material containing a liquid-repellent group. Each of the plurality of nozzle holes includes a straight hole part, the straight hole part extending from the droplet discharge surface of the nozzle base member and having a constant diameter in a thickness direction of the nozzle base member. The liquid-repellent group contained in the liquid-repellent material is attached to an inner nozzle wall of the straight hole part. When the nozzle hole is supplied with pure water, a meniscus of the pure water stays in the straight hole part.

LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE, AND DEVICE DRIVER

A liquid discharge device includes a liquid discharge head that includes a nozzle from which liquid is discharged and a liquid channel communicating with the nozzle, and that discharges liquid from the nozzle. The nozzle has an inner wall surface having an uneven pattern including a recess where the inner diameter of the nozzle is increased and a projection where the inner diameter of the nozzle is smaller than that in the recess. In a case where ink is continuously discharged from an identical nozzle, at a time when a meniscus in the nozzle after previous discharge is located closer to an initial position before discharge than a center position between the initial position and a position at which the meniscus is most greatly drawn toward the liquid channel, subsequent discharge is performed.

Chemical liquid dispensing apparatus

According to one embodiment, a liquid dispensing apparatus includes a mounting unit configured to hold a liquid discharging apparatus that discharges liquid from nozzles simultaneously by an operation of an actuator. An inspection media placement region is provided on which an inspection medium can be placed to receive the liquid discharged from the liquid discharging apparatus. A controller is configured to control the actuator to vary a volume of the liquid discharged from each nozzle for a nozzle inspection operation. The volume is varied according to a predetermined distance between adjacent nozzles that simultaneously discharge liquid and a predetermined contact angle for a droplet of the liquid when on the inspection medium.

A liquid discharge head includes a liquid flow path, and a nozzle communicating with the liquid flow path and configured to allow a liquid flown in via the liquid flow path to be discharged from the nozzle itself. The nozzle includes a first nozzle portion at a side at which the liquid is discharged, and a second nozzle portion at a side of the liquid flow path. The first nozzle portion and the second nozzle portion respectively include a first partial region and a second partial region that do not overlap each other when viewed in a liquid discharge direction in which the liquid is discharged. After at least one portion of a meniscus inside the nozzle has reciprocated across a boundary between the first nozzle portion and the second nozzle portion one or more times, a liquid droplet is discharged from the nozzle.
