A maintenance device includes a plurality of heads that discharges liquid for printing. A cleaner selectively cleans the heads. A cleaning controller controls the cleaner. A determiner determines a cleaning time when the cleaner cleans one of the heads. An interruption-resumption controller controls the heads to interrupt printing at the cleaning time and resume printing when the cleaner finishes cleaning the one of the heads. The cleaning controller controls the cleaner to clean the one of the heads whenever the interruption-resumption controller controls the heads to interrupt printing at the cleaning time.

INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, LEARNING DEVICE, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD

An information processing system includes a storage portion, a reception portion, and a processing portion. The storage portion stores a learned model obtained by performing machine learning on a replacement condition of a print head based on a data set in which nozzle surface image information obtained by photographing a nozzle surface of the print head and replacement necessity information representing replacement necessity of the print head or a replacement timing of the print head are associated with each other. The reception portion receives the nozzle surface image information. The processing portion outputs the replacement necessity information of the print head based on the received nozzle surface image information and the learned model.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD

A printing apparatus comprises: a printing unit configured to print onto a sheet by ejecting ink from a printing head; a maintenance unit configured to perform a maintenance operation capable of being performed in parallel with the printing performed by the printing unit; and a control unit configured to control the maintenance unit such that when the printing by the printing unit and the maintenance operation by the maintenance unit are performed in parallel, and the maintenance operation is not completed by the time the printing by the printing unit has ended, the maintenance operation is ended without being completed.

PRINTHEAD SERVICING

There is provided a maintenance apparatus to, while in a service zone, perform a cleaning operation of a set of printheads within a carriage. The maintenance apparatus comprises a cleaning structure and an actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism is arranged to position the cleaning structure between an engaged configuration and a disengaged configuration. The disengaged configuration is activated by a first triggering element associated to the carriage interacting with the actuation mechanism subsequent to a cleaning operation. The engaged configuration is activated by a second triggering element as the carriage moves away from the service zone.

NANO-FABRICATION SYSTEM WITH CLEANING SYSTEM FOR CLEANING A FACEPLATE OF A DISPENSER AND METHOD OF CLEANING THE FACEPLATE

A method of cleaning a dispenser including a faceplate, comprises emitting light over the surface of the faceplate across the width of the faceplate, measuring an intensity of the light at a plurality of points on the surface of the faceplate after the light has passed over the width, determining, based on the measured light intensity, whether an amount of accumulated formable material on the faceplate is greater than a predetermined value, and in a case that the amount of accumulated formable material is greater than a predetermined value, imparting a suction force on the surface of the faceplate using the vacuum at a distance from the faceplate to remove at least a portion of the accumulated formable material from the surface of the faceplate.

Image forming apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable recording medium that records image forming program
