A liquid discharge apparatus includes heads to discharge a liquid; caps to contact and move away from the plurality of heads, respectively; individual drain passages communicating with the plurality of caps, respectively; at least one common drain passage communicating with at least two of the individual drain passages; suction devices provided in the individual drain passages, respectively; and a controller. Each of the individual drain passages is to allow and shut off communication between the cap and the common drain passage. The controller causes the individual drain passage to allow the communication between the cap and the common drain passage when performing capping and decapping of the head. The controller caps the sucking target with the cap after shutting off each individual drain passage communicating with the cap corresponding to the head that is not a sucking target.

There is provided a liquid discharge apparatus. A print head includes a nozzle that discharges a liquid. A recovery unit includes a cap that caps the nozzle and a pump that suctions a liquid from the nozzle via the cap, and discharges to a waste liquid tank that accommodates a waste liquid of suctioned liquid. A control unit causes the recovery unit to execute at least one of a first recovery operation, in which the suction pump is driven at a first driving amount, or a second recovery operation, in which the pump is driven at a second driving amount smaller than the first driving amount, based on an amount of waste liquid discharged to the waste liquid tank.

RECORDING HEAD RECOVERY SYSTEM, INK-JET RECORDING APPARATUS THEREWITH, AND RECORDING HEAD RECOVERY METHOD

A recording head recovery system includes a recording head, a cleaning liquid tank for storing cleaning liquid, a cleaning liquid supplying path which connects together the cleaning liquid tank and the recording head, a liquid supply mechanism which is provided in the cleaning liquid supplying path, and a controller. The controller performs recording head recovery operation including cleaning liquid supplying operation for supplying the cleaning liquid from liquid supplying openings of the recording head, wiping operation for wiping an ink ejection face of the recording head while a wiper retains the cleaning liquid, and backflow operation for controlling the liquid supply mechanism to make the cleaning liquid in the cleaning liquid supplying path to flow from the cleaning liquid supplying openings to the cleaning liquid tank.

LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE

A liquid ejecting device includes an ejecting unit that includes a nozzle surface at which at least one nozzle is open and that ejects a liquid onto a medium from the at least one nozzle, a carriage that is mounted with the ejecting unit and that reciprocates in a scanning direction, a drying unit that is mounted at the carriage and that dries the liquid ejected onto the medium by the ejecting unit, and a receiving unit that receives the liquid discharged from the at least one nozzle as a result of a maintenance operation for the ejecting unit. The receiving unit includes an absorbing member that absorbs the liquid. The drying unit dries the absorbing member when the ejecting unit is positioned, during printing, at a stop position at which the ejecting unit stops.

Liquid ejecting head, liquid ejecting apparatus, and control method for liquid ejecting apparatus

A liquid ejecting head includes a pressure chamber that communicates with a nozzle which ejects liquid, a liquid chamber that communicates with the pressure chamber, a flexible compliance member that defines a portion of the liquid chamber, and a pressure adjusting mechanism that adjusts a supply pressure of liquid supplied to the liquid chamber. The pressure adjusting mechanism can adjust displacement of the compliance member.

Liquid discharge apparatus, cleaning apparatus, and cleaning method

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a casing, a liquid discharge head that includes a nozzle for discharging a liquid supplied from a liquid supply source provided in the casing, a waste liquid tank that accommodates in the casing a fluid emitted from the nozzle, and an outlet opening for emitting the fluid emitted from the nozzle to an outside of the casing without emitting the fluid into the waste liquid tank provided in the casing.

Liquid ejecting apparatus and pressure-regulating device

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid inflow unit provided in the liquid supply path which supplies a liquid to a liquid ejecting unit and into which the liquid flows, a liquid accommodation unit having a diaphragm section, a communication path through which the liquid inflow part and the liquid accommodation part communicate, and a pressure-regulating mechanism having an on-off valve which opens and closes the communication path in response to displacement of the diaphragm portion, and a pressing mechanism which puts the on-off valve in an open state regardless of the pressure in the liquid inflow unit by pressing the diaphragm portion.

LIQUID EJECTION APPARATUS
