MULTIPURPOSE BOTTLE APPARATUS AND BOTTLE LOADING MECHANISM AND METHOD

A spill proof, user-friendly dispensing system that protects users from exposure to toxic fluids (e.g., Ethylene Glycol used in MICR ink) includes a bottle loading mechanism for feeding ink or other fluids to a respective supply tank of an image forming device, and a quick connect gravity feed multipurpose bottle apparatus. Ink replenishing bottles can be inserted upright into holder of the bottle loading mechanism, connected to a supply tank, and folded back out-of-the-way in a dispensing position. The bottle may be rotated from a gravity feed position to a rotated position for removal and installation while the bottle remains in the holder. The bottle when empty may be used to collect waste from the image forming device.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a waste liquid container accommodation part, and a waste liquid drain passage member. The waste liquid container accommodation part replaceably accommodates a first waste liquid container to contain waste liquid. The waste liquid drain passage member guides waste liquid into the waste liquid container accommodation part. The apparatus body includes a mount portion to mount a second waste liquid container having a capacity greater than the waste liquid container accommodation part. The mount portion of the apparatus body is different from the waste liquid container accommodation part. The waste liquid container accommodation part accommodates a relay unit to relay a drain passage from the waste liquid drain passage member to the second waste liquid container, replaceably with the first waste liquid container.

Inkjet recording apparatus

A base board includes a board and a controller mounted on the board. A controller is configured to receive signals outputted from a first sensor and a second sensor. A recording head, a case, the first sensor, a maintenance unit, a waste liquid container, the second sensor, and the base board are arranged in an internal space of a housing. The base board has a flat surface extending in a first horizontal direction and in a second horizontal direction. A range occupied by the base board in a vertical direction overlaps each of a range occupied by the first sensor in the vertical direction and a range occupied by the second sensor in the vertical direction. The second horizontal direction is perpendicular to the first horizontal direction. The vertical direction is perpendicular to both the first horizontal direction and the second horizontal direction.

INKJET RECORDING DEVICE

In an inkjet recording device (1), an intermediate flow passage (53) is connected to a downstream section of a first flow passage (89), and is in communication with a recording head (52) and a second flow passage (90). A communicating flow passage (54) includes a first branch flow passage (54A) that supplies ink from the intermediate flow passage (53) to the recording head (52), a second branch flow passage (54B) that causes the ink to circulate from the recording head (52) to the second flow passage (90), and a third branch flow passage (54C) that causes the ink to flow from the intermediate flow passage (53) to the second flow passage (90). Opening/closing valves (96), (55A), (55B), (55C) are respectively provided to a third flow passage (91) and the first branch flow passage (54A), the second branch flow passage (54B), and the third branch flow passage (54C).

Liquid discharging apparatus

There is provided a liquid discharging apparatus including: a main body casing; a head; a maintenance unit including a cap, a suction pump and a waste liquid tube in which a liquid sucked by the suction pump is to flow; and a waste liquid reservoir which has a joint to which the waste liquid tube is connected or to be connected, and which is configured to store the liquid. The maintenance unit is configured to be inserted into and drawn from the main body casing. The waste liquid tube has a length to connect the waste liquid reservoir and the maintenance unit in a state that the maintenance unit has been moved from an installed-position at which the maintenance unit is installed in an inside of the main body casing to a drawn-out-position at which the maintenance unit is drawn out to an outside of the main body casing.
