Inkjet recording device

An object of the present invention is to reduce the amount of solvent vapor floating around when a print head is cleaned in an inkjet recording device. In addition, an object is to reduce ink stains on a periphery of the print head. An inkjet recording device includes a main body portion and a print head. The main body portion includes an ink container that contains ink, and a solvent container that contains a solvent. The print head includes a nozzle connected to the ink container to discharge the pressurized and supplied ink, a charging electrode that charges ink particles discharged from the nozzle, a deflection electrode that deflects the ink particles charged by the charging electrode, and a gutter that collects the ink. In addition, a head mounting unit for cleaning the print head is provided. The head mounting unit is connected to a solvent vapor suction path for suctioning solvent vapor generated therearound.

Printing Device and Method for Maintaining a Printing Device

A printing device includes a print unit configured to, in a printing operation, apply a predetermined pattern of fluid onto a recording medium, the print unit including a plurality of nozzles. The printing device includes a purge tray, the purge tray being configured to, in a purging operation, collect fluid purged from the print unit, and a recording medium transport unit configured to transport the recording medium in a transport direction. The print unit has a length extending in a printing range direction, the printing range direction being perpendicular to the transport direction. The purge tray has a length extending in the printing range direction, the length of the purge tray being smaller than the length of the print unit. The purge tray is configured to, in the purging operation, move underneath the print unit in the printing range direction.

MAINTENANCE DEVICE AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS

A maintenance device includes a blade unit, a support, and a blade sliding device. The blade unit includes a blade in contact with a nozzle surface of an inkjet head. To the support, the blade unit is detachably attached. The blade sliding device slides the support to a predetermined moving direction along the nozzle surface. The blade unit has a through-hole penetrating in an upper-and-lower direction. The support has a projection portion which is engaged with the through-hole. The projection portion protrudes upward and is inclined with respect to a vertical direction.

The inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a waste ink container and a suction mechanism. The waste ink container includes a reception hole, a suction hole, a suction airflow path and a definition member. The definition member includes an intermediate layer, and a one-side layer and another-side layer between which the intermediate layer is sandwiched. The intermediate layer has an intermediate opening, and the one-side layer and the other-side layer have a one-side opening and another-side opening, respectively, both communicating with the intermediate opening. A space defined by the intermediate opening, the one-side opening and the other-side opening forms a portion of the suction airflow path. An opening area of the intermediate opening is smaller than an opening area of the one-side opening and moreover smaller than an opening area of the other-side opening.
