Aqueous ink, ink cartridge, and ink jet recording method

An aqueous ink for ink jet including a resin particle. The resin particle includes a first layer and a second layer in this order from the inside to the outside thereof. The first layer is composed of a first resin, wherein the proportion of a unit derived from an aromatic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the first resin is 10% by mass or less. The second layer has a tetrahydrofuran-insoluble fraction of 10% by mass or more and is composed of a second resin having a unit derived from an aromatic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a unit derived from an ionic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein the proportion of the unit derived from the ionic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the second resin is 3% by mass or more to 70% by mass or less.

INK REFILL CONTAINER, INK REFILL SYSTEM, AND INK REFILL ADAPTER

An ink refill container includes a container main body including an ink storage chamber, an ink outlet-forming portion provided on an end portion of the container main body forming an ink outlet that allows the ink to flow out from the ink storage chamber, and a valve provided in the ink outlet-forming portion configured to openably seal the ink outlet, in which the ink outlet-forming portion includes a positioning portion on an outer side of the ink outlet-forming portion. in which the positioning portion is closer to the container main body than the valve is to the container main body in a central axis direction of the ink outlet, and in which the positioning portion partially abuts against an ink tank when the valve is opened for refilling the ink to the ink tank, to thereby position the valve relative to the ink tank.

ENCRYPTION OF FLUID CARTRIDGES FOR USE WITH IMAGING DEVICES

Encryption of fluid cartridges for use with imaging devices is disclosed herein. One disclosed apparatus includes a memory of a fluid cartridge comprising a plurality of sequential bits, where the plurality of sequential bits are written to the memory after the plurality of sequential bits are transformed based on scrambling bits of the plurality of sequential bits, and a memory interface of the fluid cartridge to enable access to the memory to authenticate the fluid cartridge.

INK CARTRIDGE

An ink cartridge contains an outer package, an ink container within the outer package, and sheet bodies attached to an outer surface of the outer package, and is attachable to and detachable from a printing device. Small pieces are formed by cuts in the outer package. The small pieces include breakable sections, and the bendable sections. Sheet bodies cover a portion of the small pieces. Pressing on a small piece with a finger breaks the breakable section, and bends the bendable section to press them inside the outer package. A portion of the sheet body then shifts upwards so that the sheet body can be grasped with fingers and peeled away from the outer package. Disassembly and sorting of used cartridges in this way becomes easier.

LIQUID SELECTING METHOD, LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER PROGRAM

A liquid selecting method includes an acquiring step of executing first acquisition processing for each of a plurality of first liquid candidates, the first acquisition processing being processing of acquiring first information about a first ejection characteristic of a liquid to be ejected from a liquid ejecting head when a driving waveform is applied to a driving element of the liquid ejecting head, and a liquid selecting step of selecting one or more liquids to be ejected from the liquid ejecting head based on the first information and at least some of the plurality of first liquid candidates.

RECORDING APPARATUS AND TANK

A recording apparatus includes a tank including a chamber configured to store liquid to be supplied to a recording head that ejects the liquid and a filling port from which the liquid is injected into the chamber, and an injection auxiliary member configured to assist injecting of the liquid into the chamber from the filling port, the injection auxiliary member including a first and a second flow channels each defined by a first or a second upper end portion that opens toward outside of the tank and a first or a second lower end portion that opens toward inside of the tank, wherein the second flow channel has an expansion portion arranged in a middle portion between the second upper end portion and the second lower end portion and configured to form a step to expand a cross-sectional area.

Physical Unclonable Function Variable Read Sensor

Magnetic PUFs (Physical Unclonable Function) may utilizes a single 3-axis Hall-effect sensor for enrollment. When a PUF is manufactured, a Hall-effect sensor is used to model the PUF disk and store that data where it may be accessed. This process is called “enrollment.” This invention improves upon the PUF implementation by introducing controlled variability into the enrollment, the reading of the PUF data from the Hall-effect sensors (the number and position of read sensors), the sampling method of the read sensor(s), and the processing of the PUF data.

Liquid cartridge

A liquid cartridge includes a liquid chamber, a partitioning wall partitioning the liquid chamber into a first liquid chamber and a second liquid chamber, a communication opening through which liquid can flow from the first liquid chamber to the second liquid chamber, and a movable member which is movable between a block position and a communication position. When the movable member is in the block position, the movable member is configured to prevent the liquid from flowing from the first liquid chamber to the second liquid chamber through the communication opening, and when the movable member is in the communication position, the liquid is allowed to flow from the first liquid chamber to the second liquid chamber through the communication opening.
