Ink tank with integrated filter

An ink tank for an ink delivery system includes: a housing having an ink inlet port and an ink outlet port; an air vent communicating with a headspace of the ink tank; a filter positioned in the housing for filtering ink supplied from the ink tank via the ink outlet port; and a baffle plate positioned in the housing between the ink inlet port and the filter. The baffle plate is configured for directing air bubbles entering the ink tank via the ink inlet port towards the headspace of the ink tank. A baffle opening is positioned towards a base of the ink tank, thereby allowing ink to flow from the ink inlet port towards the ink outlet port via the baffle opening.

Print fluids refills

Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic device comprising a controller. The controller to determine a volume of print fluid in a first tank of the electronic device, monitor current printing conditions of the electronic device disposing print fluid on a substrate, determine, based on the volume of print fluid and the current printing conditions, whether an adverse printing condition exists, responsive to the volume of print fluid being less than a threshold and the adverse printing condition not existing, control a pump to refill the first tank from a second tank at a flow rate determined at least partially according to the determined volume, and responsive to the volume of print fluid being less than the threshold and the adverse printing condition existing, control the pump to refill the first tank from the second tank at a default flow rate determined independent of the determined volume.

INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD OF THE INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS

According to an aspect of the present invention, an inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head having an ejection opening surface on which ejection openings for ejecting ink are formed, a tank storing ink to be supplied to the print head, a supply flow path for supplying the ink from the tank to the print head, a collection flow path for collecting the ink from the print head to the tank, a supply pump provided in the supply flow path to supply the ink from the tank to the print head, a tank decompression pump which decompresses the inside of the tank, and a control unit which controls to drive the supply pump and the tank decompression pump to fill the collection flow path with ink.

Load cells for print supplies

A print supply, the print supply containing a print material and to connect to a printing device to provide the print material to the printing device that includes a container to maintain the print material, an integrated circuit coupled to the box to interface electrically with the printing device, and a load cell communicatively coupled to the integrated circuit to detect a weight of the print liquid supply.

Print liquid supply units

Examples of a print liquid supply unit are described herein. In some examples, the print liquid supply unit includes a first housing component including an alignment feature. In some examples, the print liquid supply unit includes sensor circuitry. In some examples, the print liquid supply unit includes a sensor support secured to the first housing component with the alignment feature.

A first printing unit and a second printing unit are supplied with ink from a first sub-tank and a second sub-tank, respectively. The first sub-tank and the second sub-tank are supplied with the ink from a first branch pipe and a second branch pipe, respectively. The first branch pipe is provided with a first valve, and the second branch pipe is provided with a second valve. A central control unit determines which one of the first sub-tank and the second sub-tank is to be preferentially supplied with ink based on at least one of the amount of remaining ink in each of the first sub-tank and the second sub-tank, and an estimated amount of consumption of ink in each of the first printing unit and the second printing unit, and controls the first valve and the second valve based on a result of the determination.

PRINTING DEVICE STARTUP LEVEL BASED ON COMPUTED PEN AGE

A non-limiting example method of printing device startup based on computed pen age includes reading a pen manufacturing date encoded in a pen of a printing device. The method includes computing a pen age for the pen of the printing device based on the pen manufacturing date, and selecting a startup level based on the computed pen age.

Ink jet recording apparatus, ink jet recording method, and ink composition

An ink jet recording apparatus includes an ink composition, an ink encasement in which the ink composition is encased, a recording head that ejects the ink composition, and a carriage configured to move the recording head back and forth. The carriage carries the ink encasement, with the ink encasement integrated with the carriage. The ink encasement has an ink fill port that opens and shuts as a port through which the ink composition is loaded and also has a detector that detects the amount of ink composition encased. The ink composition contains a surfactant with an HLB of 6 or less.

Method and system for controlling the use of a cartridge

A system for printing an imprint on a flat material includes a cartridge holding a consumable (e.g. ink) and at least one material processing device (MPD) (e.g. franking machine) having a printer and a data processor connected to the printer to control use of the cartridge to produce the imprint. The MPD is configured to detect insertion of the cartridge into the printer and generate current consumption information representing the use of the cartridge by the printer since insertion. The cartridge can include a first non-volatile memory that (unchangeably) stores a unique cartridge identification of the cartridge. The data processor is configured to: cause, based on a predeterminable usage-relevant event occurring, a current use-information, generated based on the current consumption information logically linked to the cartridge identification, to be stored in a second memory, and write to an irreversibly writable memory area of the first memory when the event occurs.

TOKEN PERMITTING PRINT MATERIAL CARTRIDGE USAGE

In response to detecting that a remaining supply of print material of a first cartridge has reached a first threshold, a printing device transmits a request. In response to detecting that a second cartridge has replaced the first cartridge, the printing device determines whether the remaining supply had reached a second threshold and whether a token permitting usage of the second cartridge was received responsive to the request. In response to determining that the remaining supply had reached the second threshold and that the token was received, the printing device prints with print material from the second cartridge.
