A liquid discharge apparatus includes: a liquid discharge head configured to discharge a liquid onto a printing medium to form an image on the printing medium; a conveyor configured to convey the printing medium to the liquid discharge head in a conveyance direction; a carriage mounting the liquid discharge head, the carriage configured to move the liquid discharge head in a first direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction; and a controller configured to calculate a control parameter to shift a printing position of the liquid discharge head in at least one of the first direction or the conveyance direction for each time the conveyor conveying the printing medium.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING COLOR IMAGES ON SUBSTRATES IN AN INKJET PRINTER

A method of operating a printer evaluates the effect of printing a print job with two different orientations of the image content data for the print job. The orientation that produces the least increase in the cross-process direction displacement error for the inkjets in the printer is selected for printing the print job. By attenuating the increase in cross-process direction displacement error, the interval between printhead maintenance operations is increased.

RECORDING DEVICE AND RECORDING METHOD

A recording device includes a recording head including a plurality of nozzles configured to discharge a liquid onto a medium, and a control unit configured to control the discharge of the liquid by the recording head based on recording data. The control unit is configured to execute a plurality of combined halftone processes, the combined halftone process being a combination of a plurality of halftone processes and the plurality of combined halftone processes being different from each other in mode of the combination of the plurality of halftone processes. When performing recording on the medium by executing a recording mode designated from among a plurality of the recording modes having different degrees of error in landing position of dots of the liquid on the medium, the control unit selects the combined halftone process and executes the selected combined halftone process to generate the recording data.

An image processing apparatus obtains a plurality of measured values obtained by measuring a measurement image; and replaces a first measured value with a value based on a second measured value. The first measured value being included in the plurality of measured values and being unsuitable for identifying the density characteristic, and the second measured value being included in the plurality of measured values and being suitable for identifying the density characteristic.

PRINTING COMPENSATION

In an example, a method for compensating a misalignment introduced by a printing process comprises printing a plurality of first symbols onto a print media with a first printing liquid at spaced-apart locations on the print media, printing a plurality of second symbols onto the print media with a second printing liquid such that each second symbol overlaps a corresponding first symbol by a different symbol offset amount, identifying a first symbol and the corresponding second symbol, and the respective symbol offset amount, that represent a correct alignment between the plurality of first symbols and the plurality of second symbols, and adjusting a print parameter according to the identified symbol offset amount.

Image processing apparatus and non-transitory computer readable medium

An image processing apparatus includes a processor. The processor is configured to set an image position of a reference image in a transport direction of a recording medium to an arbitrary position on a specific page of the recording medium. The reference image is formed using a first color and serves as a reference for an image position of an image of a second color to be formed after the image of the first color is formed. The processor is also configured to adjust the image position for the second color on an adjacent page, located adjacently upstream of the specific page in the transport direction, by using image information of the reference image formed on the specific page.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRINTHEAD MAINTENANCE

In an example, there is provided a method and apparatus for generating a print output file, the method comprising receiving at least one image to be printed, determining a printing area corresponding to a region containing the at least one image to be printed and a non-printing area corresponding to a remaining region, providing a spit-on-page dot pattern limited to the non-printing area, and generating the print output file comprising the dot pattern and the at least one image.

ALIGNMENT PATTERNS
20210362509 · 2021-11-25 ·

A media may comprise an alignment pattern on a surface of the media, the alignment pattern comprising a first set of marks of a first color, and a plurality of reference areas covering at least partially the first set of marks and the reference areas having a plurality of gaps. The reference areas may be a second colour, wherein the second colour is different to the first colour. The reference areas may be formed of an printing fluid such that the first set of marks underneath the reference areas are less detectable than one of the first set of marks in one of the plurality of gaps. The one of the first set of marks that is more detectable indicates a measure of alignment between the first set of marks and the reference areas.

A printer includes head that performs printing by ejecting ink at a position of ejection of the ink in a print coordinate system, camera that captures an image of an area where the ink is ejected and outputs the image in an image coordinate system, camera capturing an image of calibration pattern printed by ejecting the ink at a calibration ejection position and outputting the image including calibration pattern, the calibration ejection position being a position at which calibration pattern is printed by ejecting the ink, and calculator that calculates the amount of displacement between the position of calibration pattern in the image coordinate system and the calibration ejection position in the print coordinate system.

Method for adjusting a setup for an encoder for printing to a recording medium of unknown thickness with a multi-row inkjet print head in a printing system

In a method for adjusting a setup for an encoder for printing to a recording medium of unknown thickness with a multi-row inkjet print head in a printing system, a continuous test line is printed onto the recording medium, transversal to a feed direction of said recording medium, a varied width of the test line is measured, and the adjustment of the setup is modified to minimize the width of the test line.
