Foil stamping apparatus

An apparatus for coating a part that has an asymmetrical edge. The apparatus includes a film dispenser, a film retriever, a mandrel; and a part holder. Preferably one or both of the mandrel and the part holder move in an angular relationship to one another, and the film dispenser and the film retriever move co-operatively in at least two dimensions with respect to the part holder. There is further provided a film having a first edge and a second edge, and the film can be a decorative coating, a protective coating or combinations of these. The film dispenser holds the first edge of the film, the film is positioned between the mandrel and the part holder and the film retriever holds the film second edge.

Transfer film

The present invention provides a transfer film that allows a transfer layer to have satisfactory transferability and can provide a print with high durability. The present invention solves the above problem by a transfer film 100 in which an adhesion layer 7, a release layer 2, and a transfer layer 10 are provided in this order on a substrate 1, wherein the transfer layer 10 has a layered structure in which a protective layer 3 and an adhesive layer 5 are layered in this order from the side of the substrate, the protective layer 3 is allowed to contain an active ray-cured resin formed by curing an active ray-curable resin by an active ray, and the adhesion layer 7 is allowed to contain a cured binder resin which is a cured product of a binder resin and a curing agent.

Digital printed heat transfer graphics for soft goods

A thermal transfer and process for producing it that provides a fully-digital printed heat transfer capable of little to no process changeover between different graphics. Specifically, the method comprises printing a digital image onto a treated adhesive substrate, applying the image side to a carrier substrate, then digitally cutting and removing substrate not containing graphic elements photographic quality, durable print transfers for the apparel and soft goods industry.

High-function heat transfer releases

A heat transfer label is disclosed. The heat transfer label comprises a special heat stable release which strongly adheres to the carrier, offers a highly ink and adhesive wettable surface, stays intact under heat transfer bonding conditions, releases easily, leaves no contamination on the transfer or fabric, and enables durable replication of the release surface finish onto the resultant transfers.

Transfer material, printed material, and manufacturing method for printed material

The present invention simplifies structures of a transfer material and a printed material both having an image based on a three-dimensional micro-structure, making manufacture of the materials more efficient and reducing prices thereof. An ink receiving layer and an adhesive are provided on a substrate of the transfer material. The ink receiving layer is of an air gap absorption type and has an image based on a three-dimensional micro-structure. Aggregates of the adhesive are discretely arranged on a front surface of the ink receiving layer.

PROCESS FOR TRANSFERRING MICROSTRUCTURES TO A FINAL SUBSTRATE

A process for transferring microstructures to a flexible or rigid final substrate that offers advantages in both speed and precision is provided. The inventive process involves subjecting a transfer film in a continuous roll-to-roll process to the following operations: either forming microstructures on, or transferring microstructures to a surface of the transfer film; and then transferring the microstructures from the transfer film onto a surface of the final substrate. The microstructures are single or multi-layer structures that are made up of: voids in a substantially planar surface, the voids optionally filled or coated with another material; raised areas in a substantially planar surface; or combinations thereof.

Process for forming transfer film

A process includes forming a transfer film without a release layer in which the transfer film includes a substrate layer to be peeled off during a transfer process, and a transfer layer to be transferred to an article to be decorated. The transfer layer has a protective layer, a printed or vapor-deposited decorative layer, and an adhering layer, which are laminated in this order. The substrate layer is a base film of a synthetic resin formed by extruding a molten synthetic resin. The substrate layer is so laminated and thermally compressed in direct contact with the protective layer such that the substrate layer does not peel off the protective layer before the transfer process and peels off the protective layer from a peeled end portion of the substrate layer as a trigger during the transfer process, by thermally pressing the substrate layer and the protective layer between rolls.
