The belt layer includes an angle belt having a belt angle ≥45° and ≤70° in absolute values, a pair of cross belts having belt angles of ≥10° and ≤45° in absolute values and having belt angles of mutually opposite signs, and a reinforcing layer having a belt angle within ±5° relative to a circumferential direction. A width Ws of the reinforcing layer and a cross-sectional width Wca of the carcass layer satisfy 0.60≤Ws/Wca≤0.70. The cross belts are radially outward of the large angle belt. The reinforcing layer is radially inward of the pair of cross belts. A width Wb2 of a wider cross belt of the pair and Wca satisfy 0.79≤Wb2/Wca≤0.89.

In a pneumatic tire according to an embodiment, a belt layer is configured such that the angle of a belt cord relative to the tire circumferential direction is more than 30° and 40° or less. An organic fiber cord of a belt-reinforcing layer, which is placed on the radially outer side of the belt layer, is configured such that when the number of twists per 10 cm length is T (twists/10 cm), the fineness is D (dtex), and the fiber density is ρ (g/cm.sup.3), the twist coefficient K defined as T×(D/ρ).sup.1/2 is 900 to 2,600, and the product of the load at 5% elongation LASE 5% (N) of the organic fiber cord and the end count E (cords/25 mm) of the organic fiber cord is 1,000 N or more.

A pneumatic tire for use on trucks, the tire comprising: a tread which includes a belt reinforcement structure, the belt structure including a pair of working belts, wherein the angle of the working belts range from about 10 degrees to about 50 degrees, and wherein the first working belt has an angle of the reinforcements different that the angle of the belt reinforcements of the second working belt. The belt package further includes a low angle belt that is preferably positioned between of the working belts. The pneumatic tire further includes a tread having a groove reinforced with a tread compound having a tensile at break greater than 18 MPa, and an elongation at break greater than 450%.

The spiral belt has a reinforcing cord wound in the tire circumferential direction. The tensile elongation at break of the reinforcing cord is 10 cN/dtex or more, and the elongation at break of the reinforcing cord is 13% or less. The spiral belt is formed by winding a cord unit, in which a plurality of reinforcing cords are arranged along the tire width direction, around the tire circumferential direction. The width of the cord unit in the tire width direction is narrower than the width GW of the circumferential groove in the tire width direction.

The radial tire includes: a pair of parallel bead cores; at least one radial carcass ply wound around the bead cores; one or more inclined belt layers layered on the outer circumference of the carcass ply; and one or more cap ply layers layered in the circumferential direction of a tire on the outer circumference of the inclined belt layers, wherein the cap ply includes a dip cord manufactured using a yarn comprising 90 mol % or more of polyethylene terephthalate, and the dip cord has a shrinkage of 3.0-4.0%, a strength of 2.5-3.0 g/d at an elongation of 5%, a breaking strength of 6.5-7.5 g/d, and a dimensional stability index of 5.8-6.5.

The tire (10) is obtained by a method comprising a step of manufacturing the hooping ply (19), in which the bonded reinforcing elements (44) are embedded in a polymer composition in order to form the uncured hooping ply, the equivalent initial tensile modulus of the uncured hooping ply ranging from 330 to 620 cN/tex/dm.
