A pneumatic tire comprises a carcass layer, a belt layer disposed on an outer side of the carcass layer in a tire radial direction, and a tread rubber disposed on the outer side of the belt layer in the tire radial direction. The belt layer formed by laminating an angle belt having a belt angle 45 and 70 in absolute values, a pair of cross belts, having belt angles of 10 and 45 in absolute values and having belt angles of mutually opposite signs, and a circumferential reinforcing layer having a belt angle within a range of 5 with respect to a tire circumferential direction. A tread width TW and a cross-sectional width Wca of the carcass layer have a relationship such that 0.82TW/Wca0.92. A width Ws of the circumferential reinforcing layer and a cross-sectional width Wca of the carcass layer such that 0.60Ws/Wca0.70.

Tire overlay composition

A tire comprising an overlay ply wherein (i) the shoulder section of the overlay comprises an elastomer and short polymeric or non-polymeric reinforcing fibers present in an amount of from 0.1 to 10 parts fiber per hundred parts of elastomer, the short fibers having a tenacity of at least 2 grams per dtex, a modulus of at least 10 grams per dtex and a length of from 0.1 to 8 mm and wherein the fibers are aligned substantially parallel to each other in a controlled angle of orientation within the overlay wherein the orientation is selected such that it decreases tire noise, and (ii) the section of overlay in the crown of the tire comprising cords of continuous filament polymeric fibers or continuous strands of metal or combinations thereof, the cords being aligned in a circumferential direction around the tire.

A pneumatic tire comprises a tread portion provided with a band layer disposed radially inside a tread rubber provided with a first circumferential groove. Cords of the band layer are a hybrid cord formed by twisting together a first filament and a second filament having an elastic modulus lower than that of the first filament. In a region radially inside the first circumferential groove, a maximum thickness t1 of topping rubber on the radially outer side of the band cords is not more than 1.0 mm; a minimum distance d1 from the bottom of the first circumferential groove to the radially outer surface of the band layer is not more than 2.0 mm; and a distance d2 from a groove edge of the first circumferential groove to the radially outer surface of the band layer is not more than 15.0 mm.

A pneumatic tire comprises a carcass layer, a belt layer radially outward of the carcass layer, and a tread rubber radially outward of the belt layer. A belt cord angle of a belt layer large angle belt is 45-70, opposite sign belt cord angles of cross belts are 10-45, and a reinforcing layer belt cord angle is within 5 of a circumferential direction. A reinforcing layer width Ws and a carcass cross-sectional width Wca satisfy 0.60Ws/Wca0.70. The reinforcing layer is radially outward of the cross belts which are radially outward of the large angle belt. A wider cross belt width Wb2 of the pair and Wca satisfy 0.79Wb2/Wca0.89. Wb2 and Wca satisfy 0.79Wb2/Wca0.89. Relationships 0.79Wb2/Wca0.84 and either 0.82TW/Wca0.92 or 0.79TW/SW0.89 are satisfied, where TW is a tread width and SW is a total tire width.
