A tire includes a first circumferential main groove 11 and a second circumferential main groove 12 in a tread surface 1. A resonator 21 is formed in an intermediate land portion 20 partitioned between the first circumferential main groove and the second circumferential main groove. The resonator has an auxiliary groove 211 whose both ends terminate within the intermediate land portion. The groove depths D1 of the first and second circumferential main grooves are 50% or less of the groove widths W2 of the first and second circumferential main grooves, respectively. The groove depth D3 of the auxiliary groove of the resonator is 70% or more of the groove depth D1 of the first circumferential main groove.

It is an object to provide a tire having an excellent balance of wet grip performance and chipping resistance. The tire is a tire comprising a tread, wherein the tread has a lateral groove neither of both ends of which opens into circumferential grooves, wherein a predetermined rubber component, a predetermined filler, and a silane coupling agent are compounded in a rubber layer of a tread surface, wherein a brittleness temperature of the rubber component and a ratio of a groove depth at the deepest part of the groove bottom of the lateral groove neither of both ends of which opens into the circumferential grooves to a thickness of the entire tread are made to lie in predetermined ranges.

In a pneumatic tire, an outer second land portion, a center land portion, and an inner second land portion have a road contact surface that partially bulges toward the outer side in a tire radial direction from a reference contour line of a tread profile in the cross-sectional view in the tire meridian direction. Additionally, a groove width Wg1 of an outer shoulder main groove, a groove width Wg3 of an inner center main groove, and a groove width Wg4 of an inner shoulder main groove have a relationship of Wg3<Wg1<Wg4, 1.05≤Wg1/Wg3≤1.25, and 1.10≤Wg4/Wg3≤1.30.

Vehicle tire

The tread profile of a vehicle tire has a circumferential rib. Grooves are formed in the circumferential rib with a width, which increases along its entire extent, wherein the grooves are formed with a vertex point between a first portion and a second portion. The groove direction from the beginning to the vertex point is formed with a greater directional component in the circumferential direction than in the axial direction and between the vertex point and the entry into the circumferential groove is formed with a greater directional component in the axial direction than in the circumferential direction. The groove is formed in the first portion with a depth T.sub.1, which increases continuously from the beginning over the first portion up to reaching its maximum value T.sub.1max at the vertex point and is formed with a constant depth T.sub.2 in the second portion wherein T.sub.2≥T.sub.1max.
