Provided is a pneumatic tire with a tread pattern that includes two first circumferential main grooves, shoulder land portions, shoulder lug grooves, shoulder sipes, and narrow circumferential grooves, the shoulder lug grooves being closed off midway in the region of the shoulder land portions without connecting with the first circumferential main grooves and including first regions and second regions that are disposed in the regions closer to the first circumferential main grooves than the first regions and have a groove depth that is less than that of the first regions. The shoulder sipes are connected with the second regions and extend toward the first circumferential main grooves. The narrow circumferential grooves extend in the tire circumferential direction and have a groove width that is less than the groove width of the shoulder lug grooves. The narrow circumferential grooves intersect with the second regions of the shoulder lug grooves.

An inner end (27a) of a slit (27) provided in a shoulder rib (25) in a tire width direction is terminated within the shoulder rib (25). The shoulder rib (25) includes a slit region (30) that has the slit (27) and a rib region (31) that has not the slit (27). The shoulder rib (25) protrudes to the outside of a tire reference profile line L on a cross-section in the tire width direction and has a protrusion peak (33) in the rib region (31). A ground contact surface of the shoulder rib (25) draw, on a cross-section in the tire width direction, an arch (M) passing through a ground contact end (22), the protrusion peak (33), and a point (34) on an inner sidewall of a shoulder-side main groove (21) in the tire width direction. The arch (M) passes through a point (35) on the tire reference profile line (L) or outside the tire reference profile line (L) in a normal direction of the tire reference profile line (L) at an inner end of the shoulder rib (25) in the tire width direction.

A pneumatic tire comprises a tread portion provided with a central main groove, an outboard shoulder main groove and an inboard shoulder main groove extending continuously in the tire circumferential direction. The central main groove and the inboard shoulder main groove are each connected to grooves and/or sipes. The outboard shoulder main groove is widest and not connected to any grooves inclusive of a sipe or a very narrow groove. On both sides of the outboard shoulder main groove, there are formed sloping surfaces extending from the respective groove edges and merging into the tread surface. The width of each sloping surface is more than the depth thereof.

A tire includes a tread portion being provided with a pair of circumferentially and continuously extending shoulder main grooves and at least one crown main groove between the shoulder main grooves to form a pair of middle portions each of which is between adjacent one crown main groove and one shoulder main groove. Each of the middle portions is provided with a circumferentially and continuously extending longitudinal sipe, a plurality of inner middle sipes extending axially outwardly from the crown main groove and terminating without reaching the longitudinal sipe and a plurality of outer middle sipe extending axially inwardly from the shoulder main groove and terminating without reaching the longitudinal sipe. The number of the outer middle sipes is greater than the number of the inner middle sipes.

In a pneumatic tire, an outer second land portion, a center land portion, and an inner second land portion have a road contact surface that partially bulges toward the outer side in a tire radial direction from a reference contour line of a tread profile in the cross-sectional view in the tire meridian direction. Additionally, a groove width Wg1 of an outer shoulder main groove, a groove width Wg3 of an inner center main groove, and a groove width Wg4 of an inner shoulder main groove have a relationship of Wg3<Wg1<Wg4, 1.05Wg1/Wg31.25, and 1.10Wg4/Wg31.30.
