An apparatus configured to determine the pressure of an aircraft tire at a reference temperature. The apparatus includes a processing system configured to: obtain a measured tire pressure and a measured temperature associated with the measured tire pressure; and determine a tire pressure at the reference temperature by adjusting the measured tire pressure using a predetermined temperature characteristic, a square root of the measured temperature and a square root of the reference temperature. The predetermined temperature characteristic is a gradient of the relationship between square root of temperature and tire pressure.

A tire pressure monitoring system (30) includes a data acquisition portion (101) that acquires data indicating a tire pressure and a tire temperature of the tire, from a sensor (50FL), a sensor (50FR), a sensor (50RL), and a sensor (50RR) mounted to the tire; a puncture determination portion (103) that determines whether the tire is punctured, based on a puncture determination threshold defined by a relationship between the tire pressure and the tire temperature; and a warning processing portion (105) that generates a warning indicating that the tire is punctured apart from a warning of a drop of the tire pressure when the puncture determination portion (103) determines that the tire is punctured.

TIRE AIR PRESSURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, TIRE AIR PRESSURE MANAGEMENT METHOD

A tire air pressure management system (100) includes: an acquisition processing portion (61) that acquires an air pressure and an air temperature of a tire (11) attached to a vehicle (1); a correction processing portion (62) that corrects the air pressure that has been acquired by the acquisition processing portion (61) together with the air temperature, based on a difference between the air temperature and a predetermined reference temperature; and a first output processing portion (63) that outputs determination information that is generated based on the air pressure after correction by the correction processing portion (62) and is used to determine whether or not the tire (11) needs air pressure adjustment.

Method of monitoring the pressure of an aircraft tire
11772434 · 2023-10-03 · ·

A method of monitoring the pressure of a tire of an aircraft is disclosed including taking two or more pressure readings from the tire at different times; calculating an estimated deflation rate based on the pressure readings; and calculating a time for the tire to deflate to a reference pressure level based on the estimated deflation rate. Two or more temperature readings are each associated with one of the pressure readings, and the estimated deflation rate is calculated by normalising each pressure reading based on its associated temperature reading and a common reference temperature to obtain a temperature-normalised pressure reading, and calculating the estimated deflation rate based on the temperature-normalised pressure readings. The estimated deflation rate is compared with a threshold, and a warning provided if the estimated deflation rate exceeds the threshold.
