A connecting tube for connecting two joint attachments of a steering or track rod. The connecting tube is reinforced by at least one tube section connected by friction force to the connecting tube such that either the entire outer or inside wall the tube section is in contact against a wall of the connecting tube, thereby forming a press fit connection. The steering or the track rod has a connecting tube with end sections that each hold or support components of joint attachments. A method for producing a connecting tube or the steering or the track rod in which first a tube semifabricate of the tube section is positioned within a tube semifabricate of the connecting tube and then the two tube semifabricates are expanded within a connection zone by a mandrel with an oversized section that is moved along the common axial direction of the two tube semifabricates.

BRACKET FOR VEHICLE STABILIZER, VEHICLE STABILIZER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING VEHICLE STABILIZER

A bracket for a vehicle stabilizer is provided and includes an elastomer element for receiving a stabilizer spring, a first and a second bracket element. The first and the second bracket elements are connectable in such a way that the elastomer element is fixed between the first and the second bracket elements. A connection means for connecting the first and the second bracket elements is formed on the first and second bracket elements, the connection means has at least one connection pin and a connection recess. In a connection state of the first bracket element and of the second bracket element, the connection pin is inserted into the connection recess, and in the connection state the connection pin is frictionally fixed in the connection recess and/or the connection pin is riveted in the connection recess in a positive manner and/or the connection pin is cohesively fixed in the connection recess.

WISHBONE STYLE CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING SAME
20200331313 · 2020-10-22 ·

Wishbone-style control arm assemblies for a vehicle and methods for assembling the same are disclosed. A control arm assembly includes a first elongated segment having a first connection feature at one end of the first segment. The control arm assembly includes a second elongated segment having a second connection feature at one end of the second segment. Opposite longitudinal ends of the first and second segments may include third and fourth connection features, respectively, that are configured to interface with the vehicle. The first and second connection features are aligned to form an aperture that extends at least partially through the first and segment connection features, through which a bushing is press-fit and then swaged to form a strong connection that reduces or eliminates the need for mechanical fasteners or adhesive bonds. The bushing connection independently enables the control arm to maintain a secure connection between segments during operation of the control arm when assembled in the vehicle.

Body bound shear connection

A joint is formed between first and second workpieces. The first workpiece defines a cavity, while the second workpiece includes a shear member. The shear member is at least partially inserted into the cavity to secure the first workpiece to the second workpiece. One of the workpieces has a lower hardness and/or shear strength than the other workpiece and includes at least one shear tab with a base portion and an end portion. In inserting the shear member into the cavity, the end portion of the shear tab is broken away from the base portion, leaving the base portion to extend between the cavity and the shear member, thereby securing the first workpiece to the second workpiece.
