SUN VISOR SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A sun visor system is provided for a motor vehicle. That sun visor system includes a first guide track carried on an A-pillar and a second guide track carried on the rearview mirror support. A retractable sun visor panel has a first end received in the first guide track and a second end received in the second guide track. The retractable sun visor panel is displaceable between a stowed position and a fully-deployed position wherein it provides protection from the sun's glare across the entire width of the windshield between the A-pillar and the rearview mirror support.
Shading device for a rear window arrangement of a motor vehicle
A shading device for a rear window arrangement of a motor vehicle having a shading structure arranged so as to be shiftable relative to the rear window arrangement between a compactly stored inoperative position and an extended shading position, and with a dimensionally stable extension profile arranged on an end region, at the front in the extension direction, of the shading structure, the extension profile being guided so as to be shiftable in parallel in vehicle-mounted, lateral guide arrangements. The extension profile having two different visible contours positionable into different functional positions by rotation about a longitudinal axis of the extension profile, is known. The extension profile is mounted on opposite end sides by respective ball and socket joint so as to be pivotable about the longitudinal axis relative to lateral guide elements guided in the lateral guide arrangements.
WINDSHIELD SHADING CURTAIN DEVICE
A windshield shading curtain device for protecting a driver of a vehicle from ultraviolet light includes a vehicle that has a cab and a windshield and a curtain rail extending along a full width of the windshield. A curtain is slidably attached to the curtain rail thereby enabling the curtain to hang in front of the windshield of the vehicle. The curtain is comprised of a translucent material to enable a driver to see through the curtain. The curtain is comprised of an ultraviolet light blocking to protect the driver from ultraviolet light. Additionally, a polarizing layer is applied to the curtain to polarize the light passing through the polarizing layer thereby protecting the driver's vision from glare produced by headlights of oncoming vehicles or other sources of light.
ASSIST VIEWING SYSTEM
A sunshade assembly of a vehicle includes a sunshade including a frame, and a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film secured in a frame. A drive apparatus is operably connected to the sunshade to urge the sunshade between a retracted position between a roof panel and a headliner of the vehicle and an extended position protruding from the headliner. A method of operating a sunshade of a vehicle includes determining a level of sunlight glare on an operator of the vehicle and comparing the level of sunlight glare to a predetermined threshold. A sunshade, including a PDLC film, is moved between a retracted position between a headliner and a roof panel of the vehicle and an extended position partially across a windshield of the vehicle. The PDLC film is selectably energized to change the opacity of the PDLC film in response to the determined level of sunlight glare.
Antiglare device for vehicles and method of use such device
Antiglare device for vehicles comprising a retractable sunvisor, a sun sensor and a control unit; the retractable sunvisor comprising a sunvisor screen and a movement mechanism to provide a sliding and rotating movement; the sun sensor comprising one to sixteen photosensors is a unique part; the device also comprises an acceleration sensor comprising one to three accelerometers; the control unit being connected to the movement mechanism, the sun sensor and the acceleration sensor, taking into account all the measurements of the sun sensor and the acceleration sensor. Method of use of the antiglare device that measures the sun light incident angle and intensity, calculates in the control unit of an extent of sliding and/or rotation of the sunvisor screen; the measure step also includes to measure the vehicle movement by the acceleration sensor. The device and method provide an adaptation of the position of the sunvisor at all driving conditions.
